A question for landlords and tenants

For tenants- how often is your rent put up?

For landlords- How often do you put rent up?

We have had our rental property for 4 years, same tenant the whole time and we are planning to put the rent up for the first time

Re: A question for landlords and tenants

Freddie, I do try not to categorise people ... you know, not all REAs are evil ... BUT, it's an area where there are many dodgy practises.

Katy, I have been in rental properties for 45yrs mostly long term, I have yet to meet a RE agent I believe and trust ]:) But, I would like to believe there are decent honest RE agents out there 😄

Freddie, it's difficult, isn't it?

And, it's a shame for them ... it must be horrible working in an industry where you can't be truly honest.

True Katy, the industry has deteriorated over time. I don't recall having many issues of blatant dishonesty  back say 20yrs ago.

Re: A question for landlords and tenants

tenant is really showing her true colours now.

Has not responded to the notice and has ignored my phone call. She was out the front of the house when we drove past , she looked at us and turned away (she usually waves).

Well, today i am ringing her to tell her i will be doing an inspection in 2 weeks.

Re: A question for landlords and tenants

My rent hasn't been increased this year, just signed my second lease.

My last rental I was there for 3 years, only one increase of $10.00 per week.
