Oh yes it makes sense alright.
So long as you have no ethics. Have no pride in your heritage. Don't care about your religious beliefs. Don't mind selling yourself out to big business.
so no Australian company should export, seriously? Pride? in what? trying to destroy Australian companies - yes very prideful.

A business signing an export contract is not doing any of the things you have suggested in your post.
Businesses make commercial decisions.
i have a friend who works in the fruit industry in NZ. The business is owned by Exclusive Bretherns ( this religion don't doesn't its members to have radios, TV's, internet, fax machines, because of putside influences) . They are exporters. They have to use internet, email, fax machines in business. This goes against their religion but it is a commercial decision they have made to allow for business use.

How is putting a sticker on a milk product to tell Muslims it's OK for them to eatit impinging on anyone else's religious beliefs. In which religion is it a a sin to eat anything a Muslim is allowed to eat?
Where in my heritage does it say I cannot cater for other people's religious beliefs? Would it be unethical for a shop run by Jews to opt not to open on Saturdays?

Seriously?. All milk is halal, it doesn't need certification.

Australian interests can be sold off to anyone. As long as the dollar rolls in who cares about aussie values and ethics.
Anyone who doesn't jump on the gravy train is "stupid".
He didn't decide not to jump on the gravy train, pressure from social media forced him to jump off it.
Exactly. The company decided not to be bound by certain religious requirements. Are any products that you know of required to show any CHRISTIAN certification in order to be marketable? Remember we are living in a CHRISTIAN society. Foreign religions are welcome but must conform to the host country's law and order. Not vice versa.
Which particular Aussie values or ethics dictate the kind of accreditation you are permitted to obtain in order to export your product?
Would it have been OK to for him get kosher or lactose free accreditation if one of his big customers had required it?
Of course. It's their choice. Remember we live in a free country. So far. To label this decision "stupid" is just plain...well...stupid!
What "Australian interests" was he selling off?
Religious freedom. Freedom of speech. Freedom of choice. All those reasons immigrants flocked here in the aftermath of WWs 1 and 2.
Your post comes dangerously close to suggesting that it should be made illegal for producers to seek halal accreditation for their products. Is this what you are advocating?
Oooh dangerous, lol. I'm quaking in my boots. Not.
No it's not what I'm advocating. My point is that this company should not be sidelined for it's renunciation of Halal certification. That would be un-Australian. Wouldn't it?

If you want to drink only non-halal milk you might need to start breeding dairy pigs.
