There is also a website to check if your vehicle needs a replacement airbag.

Some cars are not necessarily on the recall lists.

to me its kinda like you get food poisoning from frozen blueberries so they give you a punnet of the same frozen blueberries as replacement.

A friend of ours received a letter a couple of days ago that was from the vehicle manufacturer.

Interestingly is was sent via Registered Mail.

I assume that this is being done so that owners can't make excuses for not knowing about the recall,

and may exonerate them from litigation if the owner fails to have it replaced.

Only guessing.

"IT’S the stuff of Hollywood blockbusters: Multinational discovers a potentially fatal flaw in its product but takes more than a decade to come clean, costing innocent lives.

The Takata airbag cover-up proves that truth can be stranger than fiction........."

This is worth reading, it shows the lengths criminal companies  will go to to protect themselves, costing the lives of so many.

But they have been brought down at last. .  .
