Re: **AUTISM / ASPERGERS SUPPORT GROUP**

Did any one watch Four Corners just before on the ABC? It was on bullying and cyber bullying. I bawled half the time through it ๐Ÿ˜ž

There was one boy (the one from Geelong) with Aspergers and Tourettes, another mother who took her kids out like I did and homeschooled, and a beautiful 17 yr old in Yr 12 who suicided earlier this year - my oldest (undiagnosed) son came so close to this by Yr 10, thank god the bullies left school at the end of year 10 and his final 2 years were a bit more bearable.

When you have had 2 kids the victims of bullying, and one still at 30 suffering the effects in mental health problems, it was a hard show to watch.

MR 15 refused point blank to watch it - if he came into the room he put his fingers in his ears till he walked out again.

You can watch it online here if you are interested

cheers
Rae

Hi Rae - I can't watch those shows as I get too emotional as well. When Jess was in year 7 she started "self harming", in year 10 a boy at her school helda rusty nail to her throat and threatened to hurt her. Jess has been bullied off and on all her school yrs. This is one of the reasons I can't wait for this year to be over. She doesn't get bullied now but other 17 yr old girls and boys can be quite nasty with what they say to her.

Jess and her brother also put their fingers in their ears if they don't want to hear cetain things on the T.V. It's very distressing for them

Do you remember an American Woman who pretended to be a young guy and was emailing her teenage daughter's best friend and the best friend ended up hanging herself?

A similar thing happened to Jess. But it wasn't an adult, it was another 17yr old girl. I was so pi$$ed off that I printed out the emails ant took a copy to the school and to the police. Now the girl is on notice and if she does 1 more thing to Jess we can get an AVO against her.

Rae - I didn't realise you had a 30yr old. You must be a very strong willed and patient person. I feel for you. I thought it was hard with my 17yr old daughter.

So this is for anyone who needs one

just for you

Re: **AUTISM / ASPERGERS SUPPORT GROUP**

My son's aide is continuously getting in between my son & his teacher when a conflict is occurring, She acts as an interpreter/mediator.

Does that help at all?

Or are you after what to do when the child has a melt down and starts throwing furniture around?

Hi talky

I can only seem to remember Jess' old teacher telling the aide to do things that were not in the job description, things like sending the aide to the canteen about 10mins before the lunch bell went to get the lazy teacher something to eat.

Is this helpful ????

I don't know how much she can do, but my Son's aide is continually having problems with his teacher.

The latest one is the teacher continually complaining about the power lead for Cam's laptop. Apparently the teacher keeps tripping over the "darn thing."

The aide is going to tape the lead to the floor and up the leg of the floor to keep the lead safe. It will also have the added benefit of ensuring the teacher stops moving his desk on a daily basis.

Hello Peeps
Kiwi where are you? I could hug you rofl Don't go into hiding now! :^O

In fact I could hug the lot of you seriously, you are such a God send!!!

Well guess what? my Pead has written DD off on stress leave until further notice which means that we can go back to school when DD is good and ready even if it takes a month or so!

Re the melatonin, she has written a script and thinks its worth another shot when DD needs a good nights sleep.

I would not have pursued that if you guys hadn't encouraged me to do so - Thankyou from the bottom of my heart!!!!:-x
