Re: **AUTISM / ASPERGERS SUPPORT GROUP**

PnP I am thrilled that someone like you (ie warm and caring and a sensible head on their shoulders) is even thinking about doing something like this to give these little people a voice and the understanding that they need.... *pats PnP on the back*

Kire, youre day with the school sounds positive - fingers crossed that there are some forward movements from this. With the fear of the principal thing, IMO it should be addressed NOW. I wonder if it is possible to talk on the phone to the principal or make an appointment and explain that your boy is now scared of him/her and ask her if she could have a special "meeting" with him to "make friends" kind of thing. feeling safe at school is, as you know, very important, and if the little person is scared of "the boss" how can he possibly trust that he will protect him?

I'm not saying that he doesn't need to be respectful of his authority, but that he needs to know and trust that he will be treated fairly, so yes, if he needs disciplining, it will happen, but if he needs support and safety that will happen too.

Doll, I'm so sorry that your little fella has had a rough day as well - silly woman for even touching him, far less when he is in melt down mode- and yes, it is heartbreaking when they make comments like yours has....

I remember when mine was 8 (shortly before his breakdown) he was lying outside on the grass. He was perfectly still and just looking up at the sky and was there for ages. Eventually, I went to him and asked what he was doing and he said he was praying to God to "save him and take him away from all this" (the shrinks later used this as evidence of suicidal tendencies - he was wishing to die, but didn't know how to do it, so was asking for God's help.

special hugs to all of you who (even if you don't need them)

Thanks girls :-x
I haven't been making a big deal about it infront of him just been venting online. He had thrown a chair at another student (the one that set him off) and it was after that that she grabbed him, but there was no need for it, the chair had been thrown, he wasn't about to throw another and there was no need for her to grab him. I will be going up on Monday to chat to his case worker and the principal, I couldn't physically do it today, my body just wasn't up to it.

On a lighter note:
my son told his teacher (she is pregnant) that she needs a bath and that you should not come to school without having a bath first (she had fluff under her arm pits) I told her she is lucky he told me after baby is born I need to go to fat zap. She nearly died laughing and said she hopes he does not say that to her. She was cool about it.

Inapprpriate statements....lol, we have our share of them...yesterday miss was here most of the day....when mum came she refused to go home as "I have not seen enough of you today nana":_|
Lots of crying....
I am a bit stunned at the small amount of salary offered for trained teacher aides. ๐Ÿ˜ž not sure I can work outside the home for that. I would need clothes, have to run a car......needs a lot of thinking about but I am thinking to enrol and do the course anyway.

Before I forget PNP another suggestion is if you want to, why not consider becoming a specialist consultant teacher. I think that's what they are called.

Doll, I am so sorry your boy has gone through this.. they know when they do something wrong after they have done it and that makes them feel even worse. That teacher should have known that restraining kids in a mood like that only makes things worse..

We are having a good weekend.. Mr 12's dad has come to visit and that puts him in a good mood.. working on a plan to make school life easier and that might mean one day off a week for a while until he settles in.. teachers can provide printouts of the days work so he can read it at home..

PnP... courses can be expensive... you have to evaluate what you get out of it in comparison to what you put in... do you want to be a helper in your grandies class or do you want a job in that area?

Hope your all having a good weekend. ๐Ÿ™‚
