Hi Kiwi
Lovely to hear from you ๐ It's been awfully quiet here of late! LOL at C's height. My middle DD is the same, she towers over many people now at 15! Good luck with the normal one, I'm sure you both get through alive but it is such a challenging time thats for sure.
Anyway Kiwi glad you are all ok :-x

All good here, school next week! Can't believe we have done so much since August ๐ฎ
We had a photo shoot Tuesday with all 8 grandies, lots of fun and frustration but a nice pic at the end. 1 hour and 10 mins....the photograher earned her money, lol.
We still have the "sitting close" issue but it is only obvious to us in the pics as the 3 yo also decided he was not sitting close....]:)
Little miss has been to the school several times to get comfy with her classroom etc and the teacher and principal have been fantastic arranging this. She has a classroom partner and has been assigned a playground year 5 "buddy".
I expect some hiccups but so far so good...except the issue of clothing sizes, she is tall, so 5's do not fit......
"but I'm 5, not 6 or 8":-(

This is Mr 13's hair.. so long... but we have agreed to a hair cut which is a big thing as he does not like being touched..
He is addicted to his kindle, I found him up at 4am again today so it is being confiscated when I go to bed... school starts soon and he needs a better routine.

well, I was up reading my kindle at 2am....so no judgement there.....from me...but I would confiscate it too.
The hair is very nice, again, no judgement. My eldest had hair like that at 2......and was often mistaken for a girl. I cried when he had his first haircut.:-(
Good that he has agreed to a cut.
Bella, hope all is positive for your girls this year.

The agreement is actually a bribe..
It was discussed with the peady, the psych, and his dad...
The peady said find his currency. Mr 13 piped up and said it was cash... talked to the psych and he said it was ok if we were prepared to pay and that we don't pay for everything just the important things... (he gets no pocket money and still has to do small job around the house for example)
I spoke with his dad and we agreed that $60 was the limit... and Mr 13 agreed..
now mind you it took three or four weeks of discussion... he didn't agree very easily...
Az.. I see you have been very busy with the little ones... you are an amazing nan.. your family is very lucky to have you around. I hope they have not exhausted you too much.. :-x

Waves to catty and Azure.
Cat, your son has the most amazing hair! Would almos tleave the shelias for dead in the shampoo adds lol ๐ I can see why it would be hard to part with ๐ Tell me about Kindle, I've been thinking of buying one. Are they worth their money???
Azure its great lil miss has been to school for some transition days.I also think the buddy system is a great idea for her. It might be different at first but my fingers are crossed that she will have the best year! ๐
Does anyone know how Dolly and Sheepie are going?

Hi Bella, well the kindle itself is great.. .but it has turned into a bad addiction.. worse than the PC has ever been... today he lay on his bed and read all day... and he is still reading now...
If you decide to get one let me know.. I can arrange for some books for you..
and yes, I often look at his hair and wonder at what it would be like to have long hair again.. I aks him too and he just shakes his locks and tells me I am jealous... lol

regardiing the kindle, I love them too.
I bought myself one and found my younger boy borrowed it so much I had to get another one so I could read.
Now C has discovered it and once again, I don't get to read so much any more. :^O He isn't as bad as your Mr13 though Catmad, but I am loathe to buy another kindle for him as he went through 6-7 laptop screens last year alone. ๐

I have had one for a few months now - great little things they are, mine is in use constantly! My older sons both have them as well, and my daughter has a Kobo, which has a touch screen. Mr18 is the only one in the family without an ebook reader, but he reads on his tablet computer.
He has not had a break since his last exam last year, and has just had his scholarship placement extended by 2 weeks... he is tired but loving it - I guess it is good experience for the real world of working for him. He will still get about a 3 week break before 1st semester this year starts. I can't believe he is already going into 3rd year, time just flies.
It is different to a nomal job though, nothing like the pressure, but this is the first time he has undertaken anything "official" and chosen not to disclose his ASD to his supervisors. He discussed this with his uni disability counsellor and so far no problems - but I guess a uni research lab is probably the best place for a nerdy ASD young man ๐
Bella, good to hear your positive news re the girls, hopefully this year will be a good one for you all
cheers

Hi Island so great to see you around! Your son sounds as if he has overcome a lot of obstacles, its fantastic hear of his achievements ๐
Things are better here with school etc although the aide can be challenging at times. ie she rung up the other day and insisted she visit my house to wait for it..... Help pack the girls school bag and pencil case. No thanks I can manage that! lol
OH is at uni this year and when I finish my counselling dip decided that is where I will head too. So things are good.:)
Hope everyone else is doing well. Doll if you are around thinking of you to:-x
