Pretty obvious really, but Lonely Planet think so as well.
Great weather, beaches, affordable real estate, no traffic jams, fritz, pie floaters, best wine (& beer) in Australia, great produce, the list goes on.

Perth seems OK. I was there last week again, wistfully remembering when it was an outpost town, smaller than Adelaide.
Now it's all grown up, brash and expensive, and everyone seems in a hurry. Lots of freeways which looked like car parks at certain parts of the day. And the airport was full of fluoro-clad FIFOs, it was hard to get a seat in the Qantas Club

I love Adelaide.
But it still feels like a country town in comparison to Sydney.
I think it's what you are used to.

I am often asked where was I born, when I say Adelaide, they say, *oh, I thought you were from England*........must have something to do with being born in Adelaide.
