Adopt a Grandparent /or the likes

I know a young person who is staying in Brisbane this Christmas and as he has no family in Australlia. He was wondering if he could do something like take someone out somewhere or take them something and spend time for Christmas. So many people spend Christmas alone and suicide. This boy would like to help someone not be totaally alone.

Any ideas would be much appreciated

Depending on where he is, perhaps contact the hospitals and ask, or a nursing home. I know the local charities here have waiting lists for volunteers for Christmas day events/meals and a process for the volunyeer to follow.

Smith family, salvo's etc.

Police Check thingey for nursing homes might be required.  Maybe Church groups may be a better option.  We have the Bill Crewes Christmas meal in Sydney which caters for many as well; so I would imagine Brisbane has similar.

Some people are alone through choice and others have a mistrust of people in their homes.

Channy's mum:  He sounds like a nice person, to offer his time for those who may be in need.  I wish him a Merry Xmas.

I have sent him a message regarding the places to call. And passed on your Christmas Wish

He said thank you
