Sing a song of politics - a season full of woe.
Libs and Labs and Greenies, going toe to toe.
As the day approaches, they all begin to brawl,
What a sorry spectacle to set before us all.
Julia's in the tax office, trying to make us leaner,
Tony's in the boardroom, cosying up to Gina,
Christine's in the garden, talking to the pixies,
Time for the electorate to blow them all to bitses. (metaphorically speaking of course)

I had a politician, let’s say Pollie was his name,
Cos no matter what I’d called him he’d have answered just the same;
And I kept him in my pocket, which he didn’t mind a bit;
But someone dobbed my pollie in,
They went and dobbed my pollie in,
Yes someone dobbed my pollie in; now Pollie’s in the sh...ferrtilizer.
He says it’s all a beat-up, and he pleads his innocence –
Those perks and all that money, they were just coincidence;
But nobody believes him, and I fear he’ll lose his fight,
Cos that pollie in my pocket, well he isn’t very bright.
My friends say not to worry; that I really shouldn’t mind;
There are lots of other pollies they are sure that I could find;
But I’ve got a grim suspicion this one’s headed for a cell,
And I’ve got a nasty feeling I may soon be there as well,
Cos the evidence presented will be very hard to fight,
With a pollie in my pocket who just isn’t very bright.
(with apologies to A.A. Milne and Alexander Beetle)
Keep 'em coming Cue, it's great to have some competition.:^O

I don't think we're competing, so much as complimenting...though it seems not everyone shares our sense of humour.....;-):^O
Rollin, rollin, rolling
Keep them slogans goin
Keep those voters groanin - Rawhide
Don't try to understand 'em
Just nag 'em till you've canned 'em
Soon they'll be voting on our side
All the power we're missin
Our backside they'll be kissin
Cause we'll just give the Rich an easy ride.
Move 'em on head' em up
Head 'em up move' em on
Move 'em on head' em up
Rawhide?
Cut 'em out , ride 'em in
Ride 'em in cut 'em out
Cut 'em out, ride 'em in
Rawhiiiiiiiiiiiide

Oh great she...I feel the birth of another ditty in coming days...though I may be overdue...
even so.....The extracting of the political urine is so cathartic....it needs to be resurrected as the Aussie pass time it once was.......................=bump

Good for you Cue. Here's a little something to spur you on:
I am the very model of a poster who's political,
My posts are full of vitriol, but seldom analytical
I copy propaganda that is lurid and sensational,
But never post a single thought that's truly observational.
My party can do nothing wrong, the other side is never right,
When they say yes then I say no; if they say black then I say white,
In fact in matters partisan, one-eyed and hypocritical,
I am the very model of a poster who's political.

CP: "The Election Tug of War......We're the Rope"
More like 20% only, the remaining 80 % CP are dedicated myopic flocks who will never change their bleat, CS is a microcosm that includes just that outlook

actually i'd consider voting liberal if they were not such awful liars. it wouldn't take too much else.. an acknowledgement and plan for climate change, a less elitist education outlook (known as fairness) an honest asylum seeker policy (turning boats around is a fantasy.. the navy say it isnt do-able . the indonesians won't have it) and an IR policy that didn't champion lunatic ideas from the ginas of this world. . for starters ..
