Well probably rather not put it here, this was early 1900's I'm a bit stunned but not suprised. I mean it's no real biggie (well to me it is lol)
And yeah I get thoroughly confused too :^O

I'm still up because I don't feel tired - sleep pattern all askew the past few weeks!!!!!
I posted on here way back and haven't done much on my family tree for a while, so will be dropping in for hints - already got a couple. Anybody here just doing research without ancestry.com as I can't afford it right now - still have a few days to go for this month so will get on and see what I can find. I'm not sure what to do after that have - have used Trove and just bookmarked Dusty Docs, which could be helpful - I don't know.
My paternal great grandmother was born near Niagara Falls - that's all the information the family has. My grandmother always told me she was born in Canada and that's what is in the family history - her father worked on the Canadian railway from what I've been told by my grandmother. Anybody any ideas as to how to find records of her Birth.
I have a record of her brother, mother, aunt and grandmother migrating to Australia - they sailed from New York - sadly her mother died on the way. My great grandfather then married her sister in Melbourne - haven't found a record of him coming to Australia yet - may have come earlier not sure. Know he married my great grandmother's sister and she was 3-4 months pregnant - they had about 10 more children. Their house is still standing in Mosman NSW and would be worth a mint!!!!
Best not go any further, I'll be here all night - will come back again and join in "The Search"!!!

I come from a long line of being the youngest child of the youngest child.
And even though I am under 50 my maternal grandmother was born in 1882.
So I have only got back as far as 1750's......to my greatx4 grandparent...........and then I am stuck............as there was three possibilities to which one can be mine......and I can not seperate them.
My paternal grandfather was illegitmate too...........so I can't get back further than late 1800 when he was born.................but he was Scottish...........and Scottish research can be rather expensive.

Scotlands People is a good site for Scottish research.................but it is pay per view site......but if you care clever with you searching you can narrow things down.
I managed to find my Grand Parents marriage and date just by putting in their names in the search thingies.....there was only one possibility for the combination of their surnames.....................but it would have cost me one pound to view the certificate.

We know there is a lot of misinformation on Ancestry, we know we have to check it all out properly for ourselves, so when you see someone researching the same tree as your own, you see they are there virtually every day and you know for a fact they they have the wrong info do you ever contact them with a heads up or not or is that rude.
