I'm just finding child after child after child. Some died as babies
And the spelling, I'm just stumbling on people because the spelling is sometimes with an o, sometimes an a etc.

Clair...............I am very lucky..........because the main surname I search is rarely mispelt.
But what I find hard.............is they keep using the same christian names.....and there can be three genrations of them alive at one time.
Makes it hard to seperate them at times.
What has been the largest family you have found.
Mine is my great great grandfather................16 children I know of........2 more he is rumoured to have fathered

Nup not 16 a lot of families of 10.. unless there's any I haven't found yet :^O
And yes I have to keep writing Jnr. everywhere so I don't get confused with where to put records as there's James Jnr. John Jnr. all over the place

8-10 children seems to be average............and sadly not very often they all survive to adulthood.

Oh my goodness, I've just discovered a new way to search by ticking exact area (of Victoria) only and I've come up with more babies ๐ฎ
See the mothers name is Elizabeth, but in some birth records the mothers name is listed just as 'Eliz' and then the surname, But the surname always varies as well.

Another way of finding children of a couple on ancestry is to put hte surname in the top search area.......no christian name.
The put fathers name (under father).....and mithers name (under mother).
That sometimes shows deaths too.
