Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

I have become adicted to Ancestry.com and am lucky enough that one side of my family can be researched way back into the dim times.

The other side has hit a brick wall and I have to wait until someone else in the world may have more information.

How is everyone else going?

Re: Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

I just now received the death certificate to try to work out the mystery of Little Winifred

It told me nothing! Woman Sad

It even left out one deceased baby, her first one that died at birth and only showed the four boys I knew she had. So little Winifred remains a mystery.

Although, it did say she had two marriages? The first marriage to an unknown man? In fact it had 'a space' and then 2/ Unknown 3/ James. So was there a 1/ ?

Well she married James at 21 years so how many marriages before that?! Plus she has her maiden name on the marriage record with James

Re: Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

Clair.............look for illegitmate child/children..................they might just presume there was a first husband because she had child/children.

Check under deaths with her maiden name too...............just incase there was a stillbirth.

Re: Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

Disappointing that Winnie isnt there. Interesting news with the marriages though. Did you find the extra husband/husbands yet?

Re: Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

Hi punch-drunk,

Would you please have a look for the surname ESSE?

I am missing two youngsters and can't find anything at all and even though I have the Melbourne Cemetery Headstone CD, it won't work on this computer so I am stuck for the moment.

Many thanks,

Di

Re: Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

No, not there Di.

Only 3 Evans and 3 Eagans listed under E, and all quite senior too, between 60 & 78 years old.

That was between 1869 and 1893. and its the old cemetery, not the one thats still there.

If you need help, feel free to message some details and I'll have a look for you.
