Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

I have become adicted to Ancestry.com and am lucky enough that one side of my family can be researched way back into the dim times.

The other side has hit a brick wall and I have to wait until someone else in the world may have more information.

How is everyone else going?

Flashie, Thanks to your digging I have now found that David Bartlett is mentioned in a book called "To have but not to hold; a history of attitudes to Marriage and divorce in Australia" He seems to have set quite a precedent in the "bigamy" stakes. Thank you for guidance in that direction, I wouldnt have worked out that he had changed his name.

Your welcome ...I love the way one simple thing can lead to unlocking an unknown fact of our ancestors lives.

i'm wondering if someone here is able to give me a hand. i started reading this thread and thought it would be a good idea to start searching my family tree. i only know about my dad but very little about rellos before him, so i signed up with ancestry and decided to get the 10 views for 10,95 for a little while until i decided if it was good or not.
if someone could help me with a problem i am having it would be appreciated. i enter all my dads stuff like birth, death, marriage, spouse, kids etc and then it comes up with matches. The match tells me the mans first mane, middle name and surname. It tells me the state he was born in the year he was born and his spouses first name. i am happy that this person is my grandfather, so I click on the match and it asks me if i would like to use 1 credit to view the match. i agree, it then takes me to the match and its exactly the same info that was on the previous page. Am i missing something or is ancesrty just taking me money.
i can't get any further than the year he was born, his spouses first name and the state he was born.
I like searching but boy o boy it's frustrating.
any advise would be appreciated.
cheers
bobby
