Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

I have become adicted to Ancestry.com and am lucky enough that one side of my family can be researched way back into the dim times.

The other side has hit a brick wall and I have to wait until someone else in the world may have more information.

How is everyone else going?

Darkie...I have posted those site here before...thay are excellent for UK research.

There is also freecen and freereg.

http://www.freecen.org.uk/cgi/search.pl

http://www.freereg.org.uk/cgi/Search.pl

I find freereg particulary good as it has pre civil registration BMD.

Also the wiki on here is excellent....it does require membership but is free.

Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

Thanks Flashie, I see I have bookmarked a couple of them before... no doubt I took note the first time you posted... I seem to have a large number of sites and so far have found very little that helps me... but I'll keep trying ๐Ÿ™‚

I have heard from someone who is related to my 7th G/grandfather. He lives in Fort Worth in Texas! My word families travel don't they.

Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

Remember my story about my MIL, the priest and the new found brother? Well, we met him and his family yesterday, they were lovely, I'm sure we'll all be keeping in touch.

Hi ya chappies how's things with you?

I have received a lot of information from the fellow in Fort Worth, but not all of it accords with what I have.

I sent him my tree and it has been accepted, but, as usual not a murmer or a 'thank you'. Don't Yanks do the 'please' and 'thank you' any more?

Anyway I have asked him to send his tree to me, so we will see what happens... it would be good to make sure we are in accord.
