I would prefer our laws are drawn up from valid research and with evidence and fairness.
We have fought in wars to support freedom for others as well as ourselves. And freedom includes fairness. You obviously ignored the part where I clearly stated that if found guilty then they should be punished.
There's the trouble with overly generous human rights, right there. Unless someone has actually committed a crime/act of terrorism, and evidence unequivocally proves their guilt, they may well be released and provided the opportunity to commit said acts. Monis was a sterling example of this - his mindset was known, but as no actual crimes had been committed, he was allowed to remain at large.
With any form of Draconian terrorism laws in place, his reign of terror and death would have been averted. Yes...there would be some collateral ,damage inflicted with this type of law in place, but for the good of the Australian population, that's acceptable.
I for one have absolutely no qualms about seeing potential terrorists kicked out of our great country. And no, I have no idea to what extent these propsed laws should take - I'm no legislator. Just one who cares deeply for his country and its inhabitants.
