At what age is it okay for a sleep over?

For your son/daughter to allow their partners to spend the night (same bed) in your family home?

I have always done the same rules for both of mine.

As long as both parents know what is going on then I say 16. Better in your hose than in some alleyway somewhere.

You'd be OK with your 16yo daughter sleeping with her partner in the next room?   Wow......Not judging, just surprised.

if they are going to do anything, it makes no difference if they sleep at each others house. The deed will be done else where.

Having said that I know a parent who let her daughter at 12, she was pregnant at 14:|

hopefully you can teach your child about respecting them selves and the other person and safety and cross your fingers it sank in

I dont agree with that, I couldnt let it happen, thankfully neither of my kids asked at that age, the answer would have been no, they knew that, and that is why they didnt ask.

16 is too young.

Sorry, but allowing your 16 year old to have his/her bf/gf sleep over is encouraging them to have sex, and they may not have done the deed before then

If at 16 either one had a serious boyfriend/girlfriend then I will assume they are doing or will soon do the deed. I'd rather they did it in a comfortable and loving environment. So I would be encouraging them to stay at home.

At 16, my MIL did the same for me and I think she was a very smart woman. If I have have the sense that she had then I'll be happy. 🙂

I think Daydream that you know what your own kids are capable of.

I know my son will wait for a long while. I don't have to worry about him.

But I am bracing myself for some turbulent years with my now 11 year old daughter. I expect boys and (whether I like it or not) doing the deed will be high on her priority list in the not too distant future. It may as well be at home. I have already discussed this with her as part of her overall 'life' education. 😉

Personally, I agree with the majority here.  18+.  Once they become adults, not sure how we as parents can have any say in it.
