Can't argue with that either ecar;  in some things orthodox similarity is not unhealthy (science, medicine etc), but in certain other disciplines, downright dangerous and mind numbing emptiness.

That's right, I do agree with you Julia ... not all who go to church are brainless, can't argue with that.

Ignorance stems from what the churches expect and demand really, and how many (but not all) crumble under those demands and become what they may never have intended.   It's a long miserable and sordid history collectively, but for those who are happy and contented with their churches and religions, so be it.

Perhaps the real problems with some of those institutions is the disrespect and demoralising they demonstrate towards people who don't want to be a part of it.
