Bill Showbag Shorten is an embarrassment to Australia.
He wormed his way into the ceremony, at the last minute when the march had started, which he said he was not attending, nobody knew was coming.
He caught the last plane to Darwin to scurry to the ceremonies.
His speech making it about himself not serving his country was cringeworthy to say the least, and everybody there knew it was all about the cowardly attack on a decorated serving officer he refused to sack or even demand an apology from the union hack Conroy, to try to get into the good graces of the very people he let Conroy insult.
When asked by journalists, 3 times, he put the phony grin on then proceeded to praise himself on his love for the countries armed forces, it was embarrassing to watch & insulting to the troops and their families.
What a loser, but, the Labor party will stick with him because the alternative verballer Plibersek is anathema to the NSW Labor right who hate her.

Tasmania is now trying to hoodwink the voters into thinking they have divorced the Greens and from now on they will put the people first, good luck with that....lol
This stunning Conservative win has put paid to the yearnings of the left to to rub out centrist Conservatives all over the world. And the mantra that Conservative politics has had it's day is ludicrous and wishful thinking.
Totalitarian is anathema to most thinking people and that is the reason red Gillard and all her stultifyingly blind Labor party are so infuriated and rampantly pushing their hate.

It was stated by a commentator a few years ago when he slipped into the job of opposition leader (by one vote) and began to speak in this adolescent manner, that while he was the attack dog his output was reasonably fluent, but that now he had to rein that in, and he would eventually settle into normal speech patterns. Well, we are still waiting..........
Having met Tony Abbott in real life he is nothing like what you see in the 30 sec tv grabs. I have lately seen a lot more of him on TV and in interviews that show him as the articulate, passionate and caring man that I met. I hope more of that shows through.
I think the problem is when he has to think very carefully about what he is going to say to make sure that he does not say something that will make the headlines instead of the policy he is usually talking about....
On the OP.... I can't believe Shorten did not plan to go and the only reason he did turn up was because it was reported on the nightly news that he did not intend to go and after Conroy made him look like a weak fool for not forcing an apology to the defence force it was going to show him as having no regard for the men and women in our military service.
Conroy owns Shorten.... it was because of the Conroy factional support that Shorten got the job he is now in.. it was the Conroy support that the Rudd-Gillard-Rudd showdown was able to happen... the only reason Conroy is where he is now is because he is a powerful factional man that Shorten is too scared to scare.

which made me google for more information. This was the first link on google:
Stephen Conroy and Bill Shorten in Dumb & Dumber: sorry seems to be the hardest word for Labor’s bungle brothers
UNREPENTANT Labor defence spokesman Stephen Conroy ignored warnings from senior colleagues on Tuesday about attacking the military brass in a senate estimates hearing.
The day he accused Lieutenant General Angus Campbell of being part of a “political cover-up’’ on boats, two colleagues counselled him against attacking the officer in charge of the government’s crackdown on people smuggling.
Mr Conroy and his boss, Opposition Leader Bill Shorten, appeared to be attempting to replicate another movie yesterday — Dumb and Dumber. Mr Shorten was forced to apologise to Minister for Veteran’s Affairs Michael Ronaldson after accusing him in parliament of calling another decorated officer a “coward” seven years ago.
It is understood another Labor MP had told him just before he rose to speak on the matter that Mr Ronaldson had referred to former army chief General Ken Gillespie as a “coward.”
“I’m sure that given his time again, Senator Ronaldson might have chosen his words differently,” Mr Shorten said.
Oh dear.

Got any examples of Abbott apologising for anything ever?
Not even a whimper of an apology over his spending rorts

Excellent post and great reasearch before posting. Its a pity many don’t do the same before hitting post.
Also the aggressive laughy faces is another refuge for the vacant top paddock.

NOT IN REPLY TO ANY INDIVIDUAL POSTER.
Wouldn't it be nice if, just once, we could have an intelligent, informed political debate that didn't sink into rhetoric, histrionics, irrelevant name-calling and blind ideology.

sometimes laughter is the only reply. nothing "aggressive" about it, just plain laughing at something incredibly funny.

I find it comical that Conroy actually has so much power...
I can still remember him talking about all those rude pop ups that kept popping up on his computer and that is why he wanted the internet filter...
lol... serioulsy... anyone of any intellect knows how to turn off popups and if that does not work then it is becuase you have clicked on a link in a page that has allowed them.... once you start the flow it is very hard to stop and you need to run a good clean of your cache and search history... even run a virus and malware scan.
I can just imagine him trying to explain to his wife.... oh it is not me that caused those popups... it is the lack of an internet filter on the internet... roflmao..
We were only ever troubled by those popups 13 years ago..... just don't ever seach Beast Wars.... ever.... or if you do make sure your 3 yr old is not sitting at the computer waiting for images of toys to pop up.
