Boat arrivals

Have any unauthorized boats carrying people with the intent to seek asylum in Australia arrived in the past few weeks?

maybe the people smugglers are having a Christmas vacation.

But none in nearly four weeks is pretty good, isn't it?

Has there ever been a period of no arrivals as long as that before?

Nero. may I ask what you believe/know has lead to the lack of arrivals in the last four weeks?

By that I mean, what specific actions that have been taken do you attribute to this?

The people smugglers probably think all their Christmas's have come at once, this is much better than getting cash for their leaking boats, they are getting unsinkable ones now 🙂

I am very interested in how this issue is being handled.

Not from a political perspective, I don't care if Mickey Mouse ends people smuggling.

I am interested to know though if what "we" are doing is having an affect or if there are other external factors.

Tony Abbot and the LNP's policies that they took to the electorate is the reason why. The fact Abbott and this govt dont user megaphone diplomacy or run to the press every 10 minutes is working.

The fact he is actually quietly turning back the boats is working

The fact no one gets a visa if they come by boat is working

The fact no one sets foot in Australia if they come by boat unless its on a temp visa is working.

operation sovereign borders is working as it should

Abbott is and his policies are protecting out borders and unlike the screaming lefties/labor and greens who want open borders and a flood of uncontrolled boat people the Australian public dont and Abbott is doing what he said he would do.

The left/labor/green zealots will do all they can to scream and make noise about this but the majority of Australia are not listening to them.
