Have any unauthorized boats carrying people with the intent to seek asylum in Australia arrived in the past few weeks?

mr Abbott may be able to hide the fact that a boat arrived, but he cannot hide the fact that one left.
So, has anyone provided proof that boats have left and are now unaccounted for?
pehaps you'd better ask morrison. i doubt he'll be forthcoming though. we have no idea, 30 boats could have arrived this week and we wouldn;t know. the chap on christmas island tweeting arrivals (thomson i think) seems to have been silenced somehow. or he's on holidays.

If Mr Rudd and Ms Gillard were interested in stopping the arrivals, then perhaps they could have stopped providing information as well?
Maybe they just didn't think about this tactic?
Ms Gillard managed to make and change quite a few laws, why didn't she stop the opposition from speaking/reporting?
Has Mr Abbott done this? Or has he just introduced a policy where nothing official would be released from his offices. Has he prevented the opposition from reporting any information that they may be in possession of?
she didn't simply because its wrong to keep the public in the dark . news ltd papers would have paid for the information and released it anyway as part of the destabilization program they were running. in abbotts case they are cooperating as he's their boy.
so why don't they release it themselves? an article on the internet? a video on you tube?

what you see now, without the secrecy and endangerment of push- backs.
so what was it?
could you please be specific?
I didn't follow all this much back then, so I have a bit to catch up on.
Did Mr Rudd or Ms Gillard want to stop the boats?

The only people that think its wrong are the shrill lefties/labor luvvies who are the minority....
@lakeland27 wrote:Rudds plan works to an extent , but why do they keep arrivals secret ? why the lifeboats ? they are still coming, its just better hidden.
Yep great plan by Rudd open borders... Labor's failed approach that allowed more than 50,000 people to turn up on over 800 boats and in excess of 1,100 people dead. We are restoring control over our borders that was surrendered under Labor.
Yep that worked well didnt it by Rudd and Gillard and the Failed labor party.... Great plan that was

ask them. all kinds of things are going on behind the scenes. $8000 dollar visas that were $200 a week ago. who knows what fascist skullduggery we don't get told about.

Where are we hoping to establish the centre>?
Isn't that the popint of Manus Island etc?
Where was the centre that Mr Rudd and Ms Gillard set up/established?
I would think that Malaysia et al have more on their mind than us, I think it would be remiss of them to not be focused on the Burmese Peace Talks at this time.
If they (The peace talks) are successful, then it's a whole new ballgame.

Nice spin.
It is more acceptable according to some new guidelines than referring to such arrivals as "illegal immigrants", which is what you will read or hear on European news, although EU Commission uses different terminology ie Irregular or Clandestine Immigration.
Frontex is an EU agency responsible for external border security.
The main role of Frontex is to protect EU external borders with North Africa and Turkey from illegal immigration and people trafficking as well as infiltration into Europe by possible terrorist elements from North Africa and the Middle East.

That was a clear example of the government not telling us, how did it stop the boats by not telling us? If it was not leaked can the government be trusted to tell us the truth? To me that is the big issue, they cheered when boats arrived under labor, now the shoe is on the other foot they are not telling us.
I think that you are confusing two issues.
Labor didn't think to implement this strategy, so what obligation was there for anyone to stop talking about it.
If it works, does it matter?
What is the true objefctive here?
As I said before, Mr Abbott may be able to stop discussion of arrivals, but he cannot stop discussions of departures and unaccounted vessels.
So even if he were hiding actual arrivals, then why is there no news of departures?
He may be able to control Australian media, but he cannot control international media.
Has Mr Abbott created a law/reached international agreements that prevents anyone from discussing this matter?

there simply isn't room. why else do you think abbott slunk of to malaysia to apologise shortly after the election ?
