Boat arrivals

Have any unauthorized boats carrying people with the intent to seek asylum in Australia arrived in the past few weeks?

and what about those who are waiting?

It is very sad but it is probably best to ask those Australians that keep sending their relatives money to get on boats, most on waiting lists don't have that luxury.

see here is the thing, "people who send them money" that in itself is illegal, isn't it? (for that purpose)

There are thousands in refugee camps, but they can't leave because they have no papers. There are people whio can afford to send them money, but they don't, because they respect our laws and know it is illegal.

There are over 500 kids atm, all finished grade 12 to an Australian standard and with places in Australian Universities. They have sponsorship to stay here, and their uni fees paid for by fundraisers etc too, so no expense to the Australian public, and yet they are not allowed to come, they have to wait.

I would probably do the same if my child or parents were in the same situation, it's kind of natural to want to help your family, regardless of the risks and laws.

Why are the karen people more deserving than all the other refugees in the world? Just curious as you seem to have more sympathy for them than others.

They're lucky they have effective aid assistance.  Hopefully the education they're getting will help them advance in the future.

They're not more deserving, they're just the ones that my community is involved with, so the ones I know the most about. They are just a small sample, an example.

The video from effective aid will answer some of your questions.

We can't help everybody, but we are trying to help some.
