Bowel Cancer Screening Kits

Anyone participating in that program?

I got an invitation in the mail yesterday inviting me to participate and a kit would be sent out to me in 4-6 weeks.

Contact them if you want to opt out.

I opted out per instructions on their website.

I just didn't want to go through the motions.

Re: Bowel Cancer Screening Kits

I had a colonoscopy about 40 years ago......the 48 hours before were pure torture for me and NO anesthetic for the procedure.   I guess we were tougher in those days.

Oh Dear, Its a challenging and very worrying time for you. It certianly puts pooing into a tray into perspective.

Re: Bowel Cancer Screening Kits

Real old bloke with an ear trumpet goes to the doctor with his daughter.

Doctor asks questions-and keeps getting-what.eh ---what did he say?

In frustration the doctor said-i will need you to supply a

urine-sperm and poo sample........what did he say?

Daughter leans over and yells in the trumpet---he wants you to take

your underpants off and put them on his desk

Richo.

Thanks Haize, but If I ain't doin' the mail-order test there ain't NO WAY I'll be doin' a colonoscopy!

I was like you icy when I recieved one of the kits in the mail for my 50,th birthday. ( Present from the government ) I threw it in the bin, cos I wasnt doing poo poos in an icy cube tray. A few months later I went to the doctor for an anual check up and he gave me a good telling off and handed me a new tray. It wasnt that big a drama and all came back clear.  Having done one, I would probably do another test in a couple of years time.

Just make sure you add the clear ice cubes to your refreshments or it could add a whole new meaning to drinky poos.      Smiley Very Happy

Yeah that's the thing that gets me too, the government expenditure of it. How money ppl just throw it away?

I got a kit a few years ago, also, completely out of the blue. I sent it  back Return to Sender.

At least this time they sent a letter first and give you the chance to opt out. You can call an 1800 number, which was the first thing I did, got put on hold while a recording gave the website to opt out online, which I then did. They don't want it sent back Return to Sender. Woman Indifferent

I know I'm probably being a bit  a n a l  about it, as Gywn said, but I'd rather take my chances. I think they're pretty good.

Hey Icyfroth why not get your head cut off and put in one of those jars like in Futurama.
That would solve all these issues

Now why didn't I think of that!?

Re: Bowel Cancer Screening Kits

Icy, have a colonoscopy the stuff you take before hand isnt horrible these days, and the actual procedure you dont feel as  they give you anisthetic, all over in a hour and you can go home.........better to be safe, than sorry.

There is a simple procedure to take 'that stuff".

Suck on an ice cube, it numbs your taste buds, and just take it straight away.   No taste whatsoever.

This is an old trick for taking any icky medicine.
