Re: Cat_mioux's new home

Good morning gorgeous OK crew :-x

I had a lovely surprise when I got home from work last night! I opened up the door and there was my darling daughter curled up on my 'sofa' (air mattress) in her jammies. She'd put the heater on and brought a stash of chocolate so we had another PJ Party, watching TV and laughing and hanging out with the cats. :-x

I keep thinking this is the longest we (nonads & me) haven't been in contact. It's been 6 days now. I can't help but wonder what he's thinking, what is he feeling ... :_| Then reality hits and I'm sure he's not thinking about me at all.

But I haven't cried since M Day. I don't really miss him but I'm just feeling sad 10 years and it ends like this. I don't feel like a single person either - I still feel part of a 'couple'. I was reading a magazine last night and it had a recipe for Japanese Pancakes which was his favourite 'take out' and for a few seconds I got excited about planning to make it for him ...

But I'll put my Big Girl OK's on and go to work and get on with my new life 😄

To those MIA :-x Thinking of you and wishing you a fabulous day.

braff where are you going?

Re: Cat_mioux's new home

Hey all! (Hugs all round) :-x

I always thought bean bags grabbed hold of people anyways (even without the toe issue!) I mean look at that poor kitty with his paws inna air!! :-x

My cat LOVES bean bags. Although when he was a kitten he didn't like the noises the beans made, but he 'manned up' and got over it. Now the bean bag is HIS. No question. When the bag needs refilling, he often gets sucked into the middle, so that you can't see him. He seems to like that - he's a boy - he can't help liking odd things!! :^O

Speaking of kittehs, Cat, I'm sure your furbabies are having a ball with having the run of the house! All those things to sniff, places to hide in, jump out at unsuspecting people from, places to explore! Must be like Catmas! 😄

Hold your head high Cat! Even though the 'main drama' is somewhat over, we are still here for moral support! Even when the hair dryer breaks down! (I mean this IS A TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE FOR A WOMAN!!!) :_|

I am so glad you've been able to receive so much support from all these wonderful peeps here on CS and in real life too. Just gives me mega warm fuzzies!!! :-x

And now we all know the strength of Orange Knickers - well there is no stopping us!!!! :^O

NONADS BALLS - recipe

Ingredients (serves 4)
220g packet thin hokkien noodles
350g chicken breast mince
2 green onions, thinly sliced
1 medium carrot, grated
5 (100g) button mushrooms, finely chopped
2 tablespoons sweet chilli sauce
2/3 cup dried multigrain breadcrumbs
2 tablespoons canola oil
Sweet chilli sauce, to serve

Method
Place noodles in a large, heatproof bowl. Cover with boiling water. Stand for 5 minutes or until just tender. Drain. Refresh under cold water. Using kitchen scissors, cut noodles into 5cm lengths. Return to bowl.

Add mince, onion, carrot, mushroom, sauce and breadcrumbs to noodles. Stir to combine. Roll tablespoons of mixture into balls. Place on a plate.

Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook balls in batches, turning, for 6 to 7 minutes or until browned and cooked through. Serve with sweet chilli sauce.

Notes
can use pork and veal mince instead of the chicken mince.

Bon appetit :-x

Re: Cat_mioux's new home

Mmmm you made me google Japanese Pancakes Catty.

Yummmmm

Okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake)

Ingredients (serves 4)

* 3 cups of plain flour
* 1/2 potato, peeled, grated
* 5 eggs
* 2 cups water
* 3 green cabbage leaves, shredded
* 100g bean shoots, trimmed
* 6 green onions, sliced
* 100g button mushrooms, sliced
* 2 tablespoons olive oil
* 6 rashers bacon, rind removed, halved
*
Sauce
* 2 tablespoons thick, sweet Japanese soy sauce
* 1/2 cup thick whole-egg mayonnaise

1.

Mix together flour, potato, 1 egg, a pinch of salt and enough water to form a batter the consistency of thickened cream. Add cabbage, bean shoots, green onions and mushrooms.
2.

Heat a little oil in a large non-stick frying pan over medium-low heat. Spoon one-quarter of mixture per pancake into frying pan. Cook for 10 minutes.
3.

Make a hole in the middle of each pancake and crack an egg into the hole. Arrange bacon over egg and cook a further 5 minutes.
4.

Turn pancake over and cook for 10 to 15 minutes or until bacon is crisp and pancake is cooked through. Keep warm and repeat with remaining pancake batter, eggs and bacon.
5.

To make sauce: Combine soy sauce and mayonnaise. Serve pancakes with sauce.
