I've had some run-ins with rats of the four legged variety..


Years ago I worked in a local servo, did the 5pm til closing shift. One evening a rat ventured into the shop part- and I wasn't going to be bailed up by it so I got the heavy wooden broom, and chased it out of the shop, onto the driveways and bashed it til it was dead!

When I was disposing of the body, a group of males started clapping! Not one of those brave souls would get out of their car and do the deed for me! One of them commented that he was glad he wasn't my husband, if that was how I treated poor little furry animals.

I told him I was glad he wasn't my husband either, as he obviously didn't have the necessary equipment to help a lady in distress
His mates thought that was hilarious!

I'm chanting lots for a new sage green sofa and the cushion is perfect! Absolutely perfect! The gifts I have been receiving mean so much to me. Every room will be filled with reminders of how generous people are and how much support has been given to me. Just amazing!

Jules - did you send me the Prawn For Women book too? It's hilarious! I love it!

judy and b3lla rubber gloves are essential and a spade is better than feeling the mouse through the bag. You two are braver than me! I still haven't removed it. :^O

Ms Mioux, the trick is to only touch the tail - through the plastic bag it feels like a thick piece of string.... but you have to do it before it get's too "whiffy" or you may end up just picking up a tail! Yeerrrrfkkk....


That cushion is lovely - I take my hat off to crafty ladies that can do stuff like that! Well done to all involved 😄 :-x

I just can't touch any part of the poor mouse/rat. I can't handle dead creatures (and I'm a vego lol).

I'm still procrastinating. And it's getting dark.

Right! Going to do it now.

ewww that was gross. 😐

The mouse/rat was looking a bit more deflated today. I scraped it up with the spade, wearing gloves, and put it into a prepared garbage bag which I'd filled with junk mail so I wouldn't 'feel' the creature in the bag as I ran to the bin.

Good grief, that was the worst 'need a man' moment I've had since Mr Ex left.

But I did it. I could have waited till tomorrow because a good friend is spending the day with me and she would have done it (country girl) and my daughter is staying overnight and she said she would do it ..

but I'm Cat, hear me roar. :^O

Thank goodness I'm not afraid of spiders ....

Be proud that you did the 'mouse dispersal', lot's wouldn't.

You need to write up a list of 'achievements ...starting with

1. Removed dead mouse from driveway without squealing and disturbing the neighbours!
