Thinking of you Ms Cat. I won't be around here much anymore. I have been in hospital and have received some bad news. I just want you to know that I think of you often and will continue to do so. I am using you as my inspiration to get me through the times to come...your strength, your guts and your determination. Sending you much love.

Oh no Trish, that sounds rather ominous ๐Ÿ˜ž Take care :-x

Love wishing you all the best for whatever you are going though :-x

:-xFreddie my thoughts are so often with you. I found a photo today of my Dad and my son and both are so happy and just enjoying being together. It makes me thankful that I had my Dad for as long as I did and I feel so lucky to have had him in my life. I guess that was what Zaidee was saying. Remember the joy, the love, how special they are. It's hard to say goodbye but they are never really gone. Lots of gentle hugs for you in such a horrible time

Re: Cat_mioux's new home

Thank you lovely OKer's. My SIL rang tonight, the Pallative care nurse came last Wednesday, she gave permission for them to take my Brother to the beach for a few days. It is only about 3/4 hr drive away, it's what he had wanted to do when he was told he had 2 months. She has also upped his pain relief medication. They stayed with our Brother, his place has a balcony which overlooks the ocean, she said he enjoyed his time there, even tho he slept a lot, she said he is eating little bit's more frequently.

I'm so pleased he got to do this, it's what he wanted โ™ฅ

It is good that your brother is getting his wishes granted Freddie. In my experience, Palliative Care Nurses are very special folk.

Re: Cat_mioux's new home

Freddie, pallitive care is so good. My SIL (OH'S sister) who died 2 years ago with bowel cancer wanted to die at home and fortunately one of her sister's is a retired nurse and was able to be with her. Pallative care even arranged for a hospital bed to be delivered to her home so it would be easier for those caring for her to wash her etc. My SIL, the nurse, who did most of the caring said they were a wonderful help and she wouldn't have been able to do it alone.

Unfortunately not everybody can do this, but for those who can it is wonderful and the patient can spend time with those who they love in their last days and just rest whenever they want to without having to worry about the hospital routine.

Trish (now I know your name), take care of yourself. I love your user ID and sure there is much behind it.

Loveliveshere? Are you OK? Please come in this safe thread if you need to vent, cry or you need support or an OK day.

Mindtoobusy - I think we need to be gentle on ourselves. Shock/emotional trauma does effect the physical more than we realise.

Cynth - yes the doctors found eleventy hundred thoughts in my bwain using their super dooper CT scan machine that cost heaps and none of it claimable through Medicare. ๐Ÿ˜ :^O

Re: Cat_mioux's new home

Kaye, my Brother spoke so highly of those who cared for him during his chemo and Hospital stays during the past few months, they are such a dedicated team of the most wonderful people. Bless each and every one of them, they are angels.

Catty, have you been checked for thyroid problems? I get foggy headed if my thyroid med's are out of wack.
