Catholic priests believes in more stupidity

"Many Catholic priests take a flexible approach to celibacy, tolerated by church leaders, and some believe sex with children or men does not count, a former Melbourne priest said on Wednesday."

Let's just throw these kiddie fiddlers in gaol. I don't care if they think it's right by their religion. Using their own stupid logic, throwing them in gaol isn't violating their religious right it's merely throwing out trash:)

Seriously, I have the right to exclude access to any party other than Police or Emergency services in appropriate circumstances.  It's my property so I can exclude who I wish.

If you think it's a religions right to impose on people within their own home against their wishes, then I think you'd find under the law, that you're wrong.  It's called Trespass'.  You need my permission to enter my property actually.

& if your theory stands up then I should be equally able to go & stalk them in their own homes expounding my equally unwanted spiritual beliefs...surely !!!

it looks like they may even be 'above' the law :^O

AUSTRALIANS would be able to ban annoying salespeople from knocking on their doors under a proposed new law.

But religious groups, charities and political candidates would still be free to approach homes directly.

Labor MP Steve Georganas has proposed a draft law to establish a Do Not Knock Register.

If the law is debated and passed, Australians could choose to put their addresses on the register for three years.

Salespeople who ignore the ban on that address to spruik goods would be punished.

Mr Georganas said the Do Not Knock Register would cost little to set up and would be modelled on the Do Not Call Register, which was working well.

Mr Georganas said the new plan would help protect vulnerable people such as the elderly.

"My mother, for example, says 'my telephone bill is so expensive now', and I say 'when did you change company?'," he said.

"She says 'there was a lovely young lady who came and told me I should'."

It's only a logical extension of the Do Not Call Register

In January, the Herald Sun revealed that angry Victorian customers were lashing out at door-to-door salespeople with physical and verbal abuse.

A code of conduct was developed because of community anger, and doorknockers now had to officially register as salespeople - facing exclusion from the industry if they ripped off people.

But no law exists to stop people from approaching houses.

Mr Georganas has met with Attorney-General Nicola Roxon to discuss the proposed law, and is hopeful people on both sides of the Parliament will support the move.

"It's only a logical extension of the Do Not Call Register, to give people a right to peace and security in their own homes," he said.

The South Australian MP said extending the law to include political campaigners and religious groups was not reasonable.

"I think it's part of a democracy, and you are not selling a product, no one is going to be locked into a contract," he said.

There's nothing religious people wouldn't do if they believe their action is mandated by God. That's the danger of belief without reason.

THere was a survey of muslim people whether their own family comes first or their God. Just about all said God.

If you believe a cracker literally turns into a body of Christ, this is the same belief that sustain that raping kids does not invalidate God's law.

Once again, even Endeavour Energy can't require me to give them access...that's why there's self read.  Trust me...been there, done that.  I don't have to grant access to anyone, even religious diehards trying to save me.  I'm involved in the Church of Latter Day Sinners - otherwise known as 'non christian'...lol.  I gave at the office.

In NSW - According to the Electricity Supply Act 1995 (Section 55) and Gas Supply Act 1996 (Section 56) a provider has the right to enter a customer's property to read the meter without prior notice or consent.

Regarding self reads - isnt that up to the a retailer to agree ??

You can argue that one belief causes harm and the other doesn't, so it's OK to believe in benign things,  but it's exactly the same belief that there's absolutely no evidence or good reason for it.

Can someone give me any evidence I mean any that a cracker literally turns into the body of Christ if you mumble some latin words over it. How about a good reason to think it's true?

Suppose I said if you flew this plane into a building and kill some infidel, God will send you to Heaven with 72 virgin.

Absolutely same belief system.

Nope! Sorry! Unless the law has changed, ANYONE has access to YOUR front door in daylight hours - and you can put up as many signs as you want it doesn't matter. Having said that MOST sales men / women will respect a sign that says eg 'no hawkers please' or something similar. As far as religious callers (JWs), I know for a fact that you can ask them to put you on THEIR 'do not call' list and they will not call. I was on their list when we lived in Sydney - they never called.

They do have the right to enter your property just as any other person has, but you have the right to exclude them too...

I have a notice on my gate that reads  ".... religeous reps go away"   I have the right to put that up if that is how I feel.

There used to be an old notice long time ago that said "hawkers and canvasses need not call"... haven't seen it for ages, I suppose the 'hawkers' takes on another meaning now... someone who coughs and hawks 🙂
