I recently came across an old videotape from 2003, thought I'd see what was on it - a bunch of old Entertainment Tonight shows I used to tape to watch when I came home from work, It was interesting to see the type of stars we celebrated as a culture back then and what has happened to their careers since.
For example, one episode was almost totally devoted to Julia Roberts and the $25 million she was being paid for Mona Lisa Smile. The interest in her was extraordinary. I had almost forgotten about her. Another episode focused on Paris Hilton and her new blockbuster TV show, A Simple Life. TMZ don't even report on her now and yet they'll interview Kim Kardashian's gardener. At the other end of the spectrum, there was a segment on Robert Downey Jnr's battle with drugs and prison and yet today he has been voted the most powerful and bankable star in Hollywood.
It got me to thinking where today's stars will be in 10 years time. Who do you think will be forgotten, succumb to drugs, insanity, go bankrupt or die? Are their outcasts today you think will make a comeback and others who will gain more credibility?
In the 1970's, when "The Sonny and Cher show" was all the rage, I'm sure there were few people, myself included, who thought Cher would win an Oscar for Best Actress and Sonny would become a mayor. I guess in the entertainment industry, anything is possible.

I can't really see why Suri is a brat, when it's her mum who's spending the money on her clothes. I've always had the
impression that Suri is insecure, but who wouldn't be with a dad like that. I think Katie's a good mum too from what
I;ve read.

What a loser, I never want to see hin again in a film.
Bravo windrake. I gather most people who hate Gibson are Jewish, but I am not, don't know any Jews and have never been part of the community. I hate Gibson for many reasons, his racism is a factor but I also think he has a nasty character in general. There is not one aspect of his personality that is appealing and once his looks went, so did any semblance of charm. I agree with you, Hollywood was created mainly by Jews but its success can equally be shared with gays.
Like you, I never want to see a film with him or directed by him again. However I never really did, even before his breakdown.

I saw some appalling paparazzi footage where a photographer is calling Suri a brat. I for one don't think much of children today - they are disrespectful and rude, selfish and annoying, however the tiny temper tantrum Suri had was probably in response to years of being hounded. I have a granddaughter her age and would be mortified if an adult man spoke to her like that. I bet she will grow up to be an actress with the viewpoint that if she is going to be photgraphed, she might as well make a career out of it.
Not that all children of stars can make it. Suri is a pretty girl but Nicole Kidman's adopted daughter with Cruize looks dreadful and can we even talk about Cher's....creation, Chaz? I think Will Smith's son might become a star when he's older, and I think Anna Nicole Smith's daughter will be a knock-out when she comes of age.

I've never seen any of the Lethal Weapons films, they don't interest me. I was forced to sit through "Tim" and "Mrs Soffel(?), hated "Conspiracy Theory", hated "Braveheart", thought "Ransom" was just commercial fluff - ditto the rom com with Helen Hunt. I did like "Signs" but thought he was too old for the role (Johnny Depp pulled out). I did like "Bird on a Wire" mainly because I like road movies - if I was rich I would never stay in the one place longer than three months, I get bored easily.
I have never seen Harry Potter or the Pirates movies, however I don't mind them replaying Crocodile Dundee. The end scene in the subway I think is one of the best romantic scenes EVER in a movie. Even though it's in New York, the scene has a completely Aussie 1980's feel and it represents exactly why I love this country so much.

Actually I take back what I said about gays and jews creating Hollywood. Cecil B. De Mille was the first director to shoot a movie in Hollywood, called "The Squaw Man". He was supposed to shoot it in Flagstaff but he didn;t like the weather there so got back on the train until he arrived in LA. Sunshine, orange groves, perfect!
Then the Jews, mainly junk salesman and fur traders followed De Mille in setting up the studios but the look, polish and stars that Hollywood are famous for was created by homosexuals.

A poster wants you gone goo. I wonder why there is such animosity towards any new ID that comes along & garners a lot of attention right off the bat.
Are they jealous, do they want the boards just for themselves? who knows but I hope you stick around for a while, this place sure needs some fun aand laughs rather than the never ending reporting, nasty snipes & the ganging up that goes on here.

You got that right goo. My best friend has so much style it makes me jealous, & here I thought I was a stylish attractive person with great taste, but no, I'm outdone every time.
Anybody who has gay friends know what I mean. We are so lucky our friends are not straightphobic.

me up.
I'm wondering who of today's top singers will still be celebrities in 10 years time -
Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, Avicii, James Blunt, beyonce , Bruno Mars .....
They probaly all could be as they're very young now.
