I honestly couldnโt tell you the last time I planted seeds.
I do know I bought a pkt of tomato seeds about 4yrs ago and threw them in my fridge crisper because I didnโt have time to plant them at that time.
Theyโre still there! ๐

I would never buy someone seeds, because everyone's tastes are different as to what they want in the garden. I would also never buy seeds because they take too long to germinate (apart from beans, I'll buy bean seeds, but never flowers). I'd much rather buy seedlings or plants.
Looks like blatant advertising to me. Maybe advertise on Facebook. You might get more interest, although I doubt it.

I might give seeds as a gift to an inquisitive child, but it would be in a pack with pot and growing medium included. None of the adults I know would want seeds as a gift- then again we swap cuttings, seedlings ( and sometimes seeds) when they are available.

I think the verdict's in.
You're not likely to get a big boost in sales from people madly gift buying for Christmas. ๐
Seeds still sell though, usually to people wanting them for their own gardening ventures.
Maybe just concentrate especially on those people can plant pretty much immediately if they buy.
I look at seeds in shops sometimes but I am always put off if the sowing season is 6 months away.

Hi susieseeds. I have never been too successful with planting seeds, but I know how very important they are so I did a significant amount of experimentation while I was trying to get them to grow.
The Svalbard Global Seed Vault is a fantastic idea and I thought about this place while I was reading this thread. Personally, I think giving seeds as gifts is a great idea ... ๐
The Svalbard Global Seed Vault (Norwegian: Svalbard globale frรธhvelv) is a secure backup facility for the world's crop diversity on the Norwegian island of Spitsbergen in the remote Arctic Svalbard archipelago.[5] The Seed Vault provides long-term storage of duplicates of seeds conserved in genebanks around the world. This provides security of the world's food supply against the loss of seeds in genebanks due to mismanagement, accident, equipment failures, funding cuts, war, sabotage, disease and natural disasters. The Seed Vault is managed under terms spelled out in a tripartite agreement among the Norwegian government, the Crop Trust, and the Nordic Genetic Resource Center (NordGen).[6][7]
The Norwegian government entirely funded the Seed Vault's approximately 45 million kr (US$8.8 million in 2008) construction cost.[3] Norway and the Crop Trust pay for operational costs. Storing seeds in the vault is free to depositors.

Aren't we all too old to wait for seeds to germinate?
I know I am.
Buy seedlings or grown plants is my go-to.

Wouldn't it depend on where people live? Climate etc?
I've heard of giving people plants but don't know that I would give seeds unless someone asked specifically for them.
