Climate Commission dismantled Tim Flannery sacked......

PROFESSOR Tim Flannery has been sacked by the Abbott Government from his $180,000-a-year part-time Chief Climate

Commissioner position, with the agency he runs to be dismantled immediately.

No surprises in climate agencies' dismantling

"..Chief Commissioner, Tim Flannery, is Australia's Al Gore in that he is the figure most loathed and pilloried by the people who are

not convinced of the climate science. Much was made of his commissioner's salary and his supposed waterfront property..."

Are we really going to miss Tim?  ...... I say NO.

Are you confusing climate change and the gradual rise in sea levels, with a tsunami? A tsunami would wipe out his house, but I suspect he's not too worried about that. Climate change is slower and probably won't wipe out his house in this lifetime, but next.

It is irrelevant to a persons paid employment where they live isn't it?

International Business Times

Reissa Su, Sept 20th 2013

Australia PM Tony Abbott Sacks 'Absolute **bleep**' Climate Change Commission, Tim Flannery

Prime Minister of Australia Tony Abbott has abolished the Climate Change Commission including Tim Flannery, internationally renowned climate change author and scientist.  Mr Abbott, who once called scientific evidence of climate change as "absolute **bleep**" removed the environmental agency on two days after he was officially sworn in as Prime Minister of Australia.

The move shocked environmentalists, scientists and the rest of the community. Among the developed nations in the world,Australia has one of the driest environment. The country is regarded as one of the most vulnerable countries to the effects of climate change.

Scientists have cited the floods and frequent bushfires in Australia as part of the visible patterns of climate change. Professor Tim Flannery once described the current climate of the world as a "climate on steroids" due to the record-breaking heatwave that has affected other countries in the world. Mr Flannery had warned of even more alarming temperatures in the future.

Re: Climate Commission dismantled Tim Flannery sacked......

The decision to terminate the commission, created by then prime minister Julia Gillard in early 2011 to explain to the public climate

change and the need for carbon pricing, comes one week ahead of the release of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change

updated report on the state of climate science.

The imminent report has sparked lively international debate about how it would deal with an extended pause in average global

surface temperatures and why the predictions of many climate models have not been matched by the physical evidence.

What did Tim actually do?....

The Environment Department is more than capable of reading an IPCC report.......

I expect there to be a lot of back peddling and more fear mongering......even though no physical evidence, proves man made co2

has global warming.  Woman Happy

Aside from the Climate Change Commission, Tony Abbott also plans to abolish the Climate Change Authority and the Clean Energy Finance Corporation.

The Climate Change Authority was established to provide the government with independent advice regarding carbon emissions while Clean Energy Finance helps provide private investment in renewable energy resources.

One of the election campaign promises of Tony Abbott was to repeal carbon tax oncompanies tagged as the big polluters.  The carbon tax was introduced in Australia by former Prime Minister Julia Gillard from the Labour party.
