PROFESSOR Tim Flannery has been sacked by the Abbott Government from his $180,000-a-year part-time Chief Climate
Commissioner position, with the agency he runs to be dismantled immediately.
No surprises in climate agencies' dismantling
"..Chief Commissioner, Tim Flannery, is Australia's Al Gore in that he is the figure most loathed and pilloried by the people who are
not convinced of the climate science. Much was made of his commissioner's salary and his supposed waterfront property..."

Are we really going to miss Tim? ...... I say NO.
Solved! Go to Solution.

yes I am concerned that Tony Abbott plans to axe the climate commission ...which is a source of Independent evidence based research for Australians.
There are messages in what is being done which include cutting back on funds for the Direct Action plan by 300m and the fact that no more will be spent to meet the 5% target if that fails to do so.
Are we to be informed of our current situation and if so how ? I want an independent source .
Greg Hunt will be taking on this roll apparently ...within the next 100 days or so he will be making big decisions on coal mine developments ....will he, Greg Hunt consider the impact of that or will the big $'s the big companies bring in win ?
Science has evidence I believe that shows what Coal mines do ?
I am concerned that we don't have a science minister (though we DO have a Minister for Sports.)
and that we seem to now be kept in the dark about the number of asylum seeker boat arrivals...can't assess the Government's policy success/failure there either.
How much do/will we know ? How much are/will we and our environment being considered ?
We are suppost to just trust .....

There independent and dependent sources EVERYWHERE the net is overflowing with information. that department was a propaganda department created to prop up the carbon tax.

what was the benefit to the Government of the carbon tax ?
IN money value ?
I would think that pleasing big business and mining.....would be far more beneficial ?
hang the expense on the environment ....

Was the Climate Commission an independent source......or an Australian Platform for the disgraced IPCC.....or just a platform
for an hysterical Alarmist to perform.
Do you not trust the Environment Minister?...if not...why?
Do you not trust the CSIRO or BOM if not why?
Do you not trust our Universities..if not why?
After all they all get their funding from the same place that the Climate Commission did, don't they?

Every price rise benefits the government.
As prices increase the GST collected increases fundamental math.

I don't trust anyone under Tony Abbott....where propaganda is used to discredit a Government and Elect an un-electable MP as our PM and then our sources/types of information become censored within days of him becoming our PM.....
the whole lot are suspect .
what a shame Indigenous Australians didn't get to decide our PM

what was the benefit to the Labor Government of introducing the carbon tax ?
it wasn't and was never meant to be a money earner for them was it ?
the propaganda I have read in the past suggested otherwise .
