Computer question

My laptop has become very slow to load sites.

Is there any way that I can speed it up? This has only happened recently.

I have a current AVG Security to stop bugs, so am not sure what is wrong.

TTTT It sounds like your laptop has been infected with some type of malware if the ipad is at normal speed ๐Ÿ˜ž

update your avg and run a full scan that may cleanit up.

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Computer question

Do you have any new extra devices connected to your network?

That can sometimes slow down the reaction of other devices.

At my sisters house the devices regularly kick each other off because they have too many for the router to handle  ๐Ÿ˜„

Probably Smiley LOL. It gets some use...and probably having a well deserved dummy spit after all these years.

And we are regional and remote. No nbn, but I think I made a mistake re- signing up to a 'plan' with Telstra when I had been free for a few years. It seems to be a slower service now

Ten*tiny*toes, please comment, I always enjoy your posts.
I am using Explorer and we are on the NBN and use a Telstra T Hub system which could perhaps be the problem as they told me yesterday that our T Hub which is version 1 is not NBN compatible and they are sending out a replacement later version.
I am not sure how to clear cookies.

Go to your tools in the browser you are using - my Firefox tool box is 3 straight lines and is at the top right corner of the page.

Click on that and then click on History when the dialogue box appears - choose Clear recent History from the list opened then a dialogue box will show up and make sure you click

Cache

Cookies

Temp Internet Files

Then "Clear Now"

Sorry, I won't laugh.  It's just a side effect of advances in tech, more people and devices on networks, more data heavy applications, just a combination of things which is why the NBN was recommended as the best option to the previous govt and why they took note and hired Mike Quigley to start and build the company.

He took the job to pay back Australia for his education and the opportunities that gave him.

Are you too remote for fixed wireless NBN?

My sibling's family have it and love it.  Another house full of teens and parents  :D:D

We all know what happened when someone gave you her laptop to fix a problem. It doesn't sound like a malware problem.

Give it a couple of days.  If it doesn't get better contact your internet service provider and they will help you but do clean out your history, cache and cookies.

Poddster, the ipad might be picking up 3G instead of the wifi.

Slow I think!

Ping (whatever that is) 37 ms

Download 12.46 Mbps

Upload 0.87 Mbps

I am yet to run a scan, might download AVG free and then maybe a call to Telstra.

Glad your issues are sorted, Jean.
