Coronavirus support package will see businesses get cash payments and tax relief to get them spending
oh, its a 'support package' not a 'stimulus package'
totally different then.
give money to welfare cheats? really?
i can think of at least 1 poster here who will not be a happy camper.

Thiose who be still on Newstart but who are starting or short time operating a declarable viable business as defined by the ATO.
One is on the books with Centrelink ( with reporting obligations ) for 3 months even after starting a full time job or business enterprise regardless of qualifying fortnightly for dole money
Is of interest to me as I will shortly be in this dual universe
. There will be one payment per eligible recipient. If a person qualifies for the one-off payment in multiple ways, they will only receive one payment.
Unfair ! the dole for living support , micro-business for a future .... different spending objectives therefor should be one payment for each !

P.S I'm glad the unemployed are included this time, but what they really need is for Newstart to be increased.
Should not have to live long term at 60% under the poverty line

Scott Morrison has announced $18 billion in economic stimulus, so what's in it for you?

Nothing. I'm not on welfare (even though I'm currently unemployed) and I don't run a business.

Looks like $2,000+ for biz is for staff , which is disappointing as upgraded equiptment that improves profitablity I thought should also qualify , so looks like for me as a sole trader as of a few minutes ago , and still in the newstart universe - i think the $750 donation will be my gift , sigh, but would have liked the biz donation - i still have infrastructure expenses
Anyhow some of the $750 will be handy for house devices to hopefully reduce the ambient viral loadings for the next winter - can not test how effective my DIY $11 HEPA Covid-19 trapper is and need larger capacity devices anyhow

You must be like an itch that the welfare state can not scratch

No, I simply don't do welfare. Unlike you.
As far as the stimulus being for keeping people eating rather than allowing you to buy stuff to do people out of jobs, do you actually have a convoluted sentence that explains how less jobs mean more buyers?

Bonus money should also be for improving efficiencies so as to offer lower cost goods and / or modified goods more suited for the changing market places and so increase demand and so retain or increase staff levels
ie To china can not export live crays , maybe can export canned crays ?
