Re: Coronavirus update

I have no problem with that. For too long the unemployed have struggled on their meagre income. Hopefully when this crisis is over, the government will see fit to give Newstart recipients a permanent raise in the order of $150 per fortnight.

Re: Coronavirus update

I think the information being reported by Russia and North Korea (China's friends) on the impact of Coronavirus in their countries is interesting. The incidence of the disease in Russia is reported to be "surprisingly low".  As of three days ago, Kim Jong Un was  claiming the virus had not reached North Korea. Both countries are known for being highly secretive and both leaders are known for being chronic liars. It is likely they are lying. But what if it is true that both countries have been minimally affected by Coronavirus. I guess the question becomes why? Are they better at managing the disease, or did they have some early edge over other countries?

Re: Coronavirus update

North Korea is an interesting case. One would be forgiven to think the numbers are low there because not many people go in or out of that country. Russia on the other hand is a different kettle of ั€ั‹ะฑั‹*

*fish.

What people really need is to have work enough to be able to support themselves. This is the responsiblitiy of any good government to provide.

Not create a culture of unemployment and handouts, while importing labour from overseas.

Re: Coronavirus update

I never thought they would go as far as closing borders. You just wonder how much all the funding will effect future generations.

Probably not as much as not funding emergency measures.

There'll be no funding once the government runs out of money. Remember, Government has no money of it's own. Funding is provided by taxpayers.

If no businesses can operate, thus not being able to provide employment, there will be no taxes for the government to "provide" funding. The alternative is to sell off land and utilities.

Which has been happening over the last decades.

So, in other words: learn to live without toilet paper.
