Coronavirus concerns mean NSW Premier tells parents to keep children home from school

this is exactly what i said should have been done from day one, keep schools open but if some parents were in a position to keep their kids home with supervision then do it.

all the time, our leaders are playing the catch up game.

Victorian schools close tomorrow too.  Our Prime minister is still saying kids should be at school, while his own kids are being home schooled.  When the whole eastern Australia choked on smoke he took his own family to Hawaii.  Total hypocrite.

latest 335,403 cases, 14,611 dead, 97,636 recovered.

So how has China managed to control it and have no new deaths if that chart is correct?

They shut down whole cities, tested people, isolated those infected even if they did not have symptoms, and 2 months later all their new cases are imported.  Therefore they have 2 weeks quarantine for anybody coming from o/s.  They even had no new cases for couple of days.

Good, all these events should be called off and cinemas closed.  Or at least people should have the good sense not to participate.

48 hour martial law conditions declared for VIC and NSW - essential travel only , this is not a drill

SA and WA border to close , WA contemplating a covey recovery colony on Rottnest Island ( my opinion an ideal location as sunshine warm sand, fresh ocean air and presence of friendly cute critters can only help in the recovery process)

Re: Coronavirus update

Somethings up - Normally our town is crawling with police. We regularly get stopped, followed etc. but havnt seen a police car on the roads for nearly a week. Are they taking leave before the S#it really hits the fan and very draconian measures are implemented or are they all off at training for something ?

I dont know, but somethings definately going on.

Daughter drove past the local Centrelink office today. The line was out the door and 100 metres down the street. Most of her late teenage friends are employed in hospitality and just about all have lost their jobs over the weekend.
