Re: Coronavirus update

Are all doctors offering telehealth during the coronavirus pandemic and do you have to use it?

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-03-30/what-is-telehealth-explainer-coronavirus-covid-19/12101316

while i waited for my scripts to be filled this morning i sat in my car

directly in front of me, across the street is the wallaroo medical clinic (the local GP offices)

they were making all the clients wait out on the footpath before letting them in, 1 in 1 out.

no seats, elderly people made to stand for, well i dont know how long.

not good enough IMO.

Re: Coronavirus update

The patient will dial in to speak to their doctor, and if a script is required — it'll be faxed, emailed or posted to them or their pharmacy.

I need scripts, and was wondering how this Telehealth would work.

And I particularly like this part -

and the ability to wear pyjama pants during appointments.

Re: Coronavirus update

Our doc is advising all his patients to get their flu shot asap. We are getting ours this arvo we have to wait in the car and the doc will come out side and give it to us. Then we need to sit in the car for 15 mins, to make sure we are OK. Most consultations are being done via the ph, scptipts are being faxed to the chemist, if someone must see the doc, it's only ONE patient in the waiting room at a time. Good to see our little town is doing it bit  to help.

Re: Coronavirus update

So now the closures and restrictions include:

Food courts, cinemas, amusement parks, arcades, children's play centres, swimming pools, public playgrounds, museums, libraries and community halls. McDonald's, KFC and Domino's etc. are take away or delivery only. And the kids are now limited to playing with one friend only.

Can you imagine a family with lots of kids? What are they going to do and how are the parents going to stay sane? I would imagine a lot of them are secretly hoping the schools do not fully shut down. No wonder Valium and alcohol sales have gone up LOL.
