Most people have their weekender easy drive from where they live.  Anybody with half a brain would bring their provisions as they could not be sure they will be able to get what they need.  If they then isolate in their house and garden; do not go near locals, and should any of them feel unwell they would drive back to the city.  I would certainly want to be near city hospital IF I would get really sick.  But most people do not need hospital, or even medical care.

That has simply never happened here as they've always sought supplies here and locals don't even shop in the

mornings when they are up as the supermarkets are simply to busy.

Hopefully they don't come up and simply stay at home as asked but when you see the numpties still getting

fined you see that there is a certain mentality out there that just don't get the idea as to what's safe and what

constituted a breach of the social distancing rules or don't seem to care.stubborn_smiley_by_mirz123-d4bt0te_zps12f1a5a3.gif

No, I am sure in normal times people do shop wherever they are; but this is not a normal time.

Re: Coronavirus update

Noboy knows how it all started:

>The study Holmes worked on suggested that the scenario in which a human at the Wuhan market interacted with an animal that carried the virus was only one potential version of the Covid-19 origin story. Another was the possibility that a descendent of the virus jumped into humans and then adapted as it was passed from human to human.

“Once acquired, these adaptations would enable the pandemic to take off and produce a sufficiently large cluster of cases to trigger the surveillance system that detected it,” the study said.

Analysis of the first 41 Covid-19 patients in medical journal the Lancet found that 27 of them had direct exposure to the Wuhan market. But the same analysis found that the first known case of the illness did not.

This might be another reason to doubt the established story.<

Re: Coronavirus update

don't think it's as simple as it seems.

Ok,  that puts a different light   on it.

He still  got fined though so in the eyes of the  law  he did something wrong.

A Senior Minister in the Berejiklian Government therefor would have been aware and involved

in the decision to adobt the rule no travelling to holiday homes over the Easter holiday break.

He must be sacked.

mixed messages again

while it looks like some states are very serious

others seem to think the 'tell them to do the right thing will work'

like south australia where you can say bugga that to the no travel warning, go on ya holiday, get 3 warnings about it, then get a fine!

recipe for disaster me thinks

Mixed messages ...some states are serious, others less so...... That's because the virus is not affecting all states equally. Some such as N.S.W. have a much higher proportion of community transmission than South Australia. The Majority of S.A's cases have come from people who have travelled interstate or overseas or had contact with others who have travelled interstate or overseas. We currently have very few cases of community transfer. South Australia was one of the first states to enforce strict border closures and so moved early and hard to stop this avenue of infection.

Some people seem to think this virus is a great opportunity for government to oppress people and restrict their freedoms as much as possible. This communist attitude is patently against Australias traditions of freedom and democracy.  The best scenario is to allow the people and business the maximum amount of freedom while preventing unnecessary infection. South Australia is doing just that. Enforcing measures to prevent the spread of the disease, while also not interfering in peoples lives and freedoms any more than is absolutely necessary.

This philosophy is working exceptionally well. South Australia currently has the highest testing rate per person in Australia and second highest in the world according to the ABC radio yesterday. South Australia's infection rates are also some of the lowest in Australia. The results very clearly speak for themselves. The South Australian government has done an exceptional job of managing the crisis so far.

so we should all just carry on and ignore the pleading for us to 'just stay home?

we dont need any fines or overbearing govt force to be ok

we can just use good old 'luck'

hmmm, i wonder if chameleon had a house next door suddenly filled with 10+ holidayers just ignoring the 'please dont travel' thing mr marshal is relying on would he be welcoming them with open arms?

i rekon he would be bleating like a sick calf!
