Re: Coronavirus update

Yeah, just go ahead and be a big dibber-dobber. Very Aussie...not.

icy, have you bothered to read davidc’s posts?  Especially the one where he gave a snapshot of the demographics of his street?

Elderly people!!!! In the at risk categories!!!!

Reporting stupid people for breaking the travel bans at Easter is not dobbing.

Your dinner-dobber post smacks of a F-U attitude.

Re: Coronavirus update

From what i have read (which admittedly may or may not turn out to be be true), it seems this virus at the moment seems to be  more contagious that eg ebola but less so than eg Spanish flu. They are also saying it is a corona virus and  less likely to mutate than eg the usual flu virus.

I don't want to get it either as it is a bit of Russian roulette what effect it will have. Maybe it would be a mild case, maybe not. I just hope I never come down with it or any other serious illness, for that matter, while medical teams are overwhelmed.

What I have heard about quite a lot of different illnesses is that over time (and this can be centuries) they tend to become milder as if a virus kills a host too quickly, they die out themselves before they can reproduce & be passed on. So it is in their interests not to be too virulent.

Let's hope that is the case with this one.

PS To whoever was talking about Pete Evans and Manu. They are on My kitchen Rules, which i admit to watching religiously. Thoroughly enjoyed it this year though it definitely isn't just about the food.

I think Pete is an excellent judge of food but would i take his advice on other things? probably not. That fiasco a while back about not breastfeeding babies was a step too far I thought.

Spoiler
just so people know why I have taken such a strong stand against icy’s post
Spoiler
I tick three boxes of the ‘at risk’ checklist for COVID-19.

I'm sorry for David's neighbours. Are they staying indoors to safeguard themselves? It appears so.

Are the holidaymakers close enough to infect them? It appears not.

Get a grip on yourselves, ppl.

It's a sad fact of life that old ppl die. From age related causes or other ill-health issues  Not necessarily from COVID-19, although that could be the last straw, IF contracted.

20 metres from you? Assuming they even carry the virus, that would be a safe enough distance.

Ppl here are passing each other on the street less than an arm's length from each other, and there's no panic.

Get a life, fgs.

Re: Coronavirus update

Someone somewhere else suggested FITH Syndrome.

I tend to agree.

Exactly! Everyone is keeping to themselves pretty much, but where there's no case of infection, there's no panic!

Dense living? Pun intended? Just nasty!

Pugh.
