If we are not adapting to the new realities like universal optional online shopping with almost real time local delivery , means we are being partially stage managed as per the northern hemisphere lost cause experiences and mentality

I just submitted my on-line grocery order with Woolies - priority assistance, mind you,

and the earliest I can have them is Thursday.      Four bleedin' days...for groceries?

Business sector window dressing - looking like adapting to a better 21st century customer support but not effectively - no competition, no motivation to impliment required additional services and allocation of human resources

New fast delivery online trading support will create a better standard of living life - with people more inclined to get things done , having quick and convenient access to one-off goods - applicatable down almost all sized town populations and suburbia

How much extra for a single item from a hardware store delivered within a couple of hours ?

Worth a couple of extra dollars to avoid a trip to the local retail cbd

A couple of extra dollars multiplied by how many items? For near-instantaneous delivery it would end up being quite a chunk. Just the running costs of the delivery vehicle would be more than a couple of dollars, not to mention the driver's wages. So if nobody else in the area had ordered from that store in a very short time it would be a lot more than a couple of dollars.

A lot of people aren't working and are living on jobkeeper, which ends in a couple of months, and some of us don't get any government support and certainly can't afford to pay somebody to deliver stuff to us.

As is usually the case, Pauline, simplistic 'solutions' to complex issues are rarely practicable.

was talking about 1 off items for a home project not multible normally bought acquisitions - having quick delivery for one off items would encourage worthy home based projects and hobbies etc , and be good for even those overlooked normally used items

who does not want a " Jetsons" lifestyle ?

Free delivery ? impressive l - presuming that they do not have a sales portal yet , be nice if they had a town-retail central online shopping website  - thinking  if you are very busy or have to look after a ill child,  being able to order and pay and have delivered a suddenly needed good-item would be an appreciated service , once used a few times.

Check-out people zooming around town on mopeds !
