Seems is mutating to be infectious to more intrinsically healthy people as evidenced by high infection rates in warm climates during healthier summer conditions in America - which means for their next winter .....

Which means we have little time to totally eradicate the virus from our fortress

Suppression or elimination ?

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-07-14/calls-for-coronavirus-elimination-strategy-replace-suppressio...

We would need to clamp down harder on the particular small groups who are disrespecting our society by ignoring the health advice and government directives but if that can be achieved, elimination could be possible.

Spoiler
Want to run a protest rally in the middle of a deadly pandemic ? You just need to be in a vocal minority.

Too much political correctness going on when we cant even mention which groups are disproportionately causing the problems for fear of offending someone. Now everyone else has to suffer lockdowns and financial ruin of businesses, just to appease small minorities.

Another example of political correctness gone mad.

In N SW if you don't pay a fine ( any fine ) on time or per arrangement, your drivers licence is immediately cancelled as is any other dealing with the RTA eg you can't renew your car, boat, caravan etc rego until the fine is paid.

No sherriff, no court, no selling of goods etc

So by your reasoning I can break the law with complete impunity and suffer no consequences?

I have no licence and no vehicle registered in my name.

"Want to run a protest rally in the middle of a deadly pandemic ? You just need to be in a vocal minority."

The spark that started a blaze
The first case of a security guard working in a quarantine hotel being infected was reported on May 27, at a similar time to the first family outbreaks being identified.

From there, infections spiralled to the point where at least 60 cases have now been linked to clusters at two hotels in Melbourne.

The hotel infections have been linked to spread in the community, including a family outbreak in south-eastern Melbourne.

But where the security guard cluster originated remained an unsolved mystery, until the Government revealed genetic research on the strains of coronavirus circulating in the community.
The state's Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton confirmed all of the strains were different from those found in the first wave: "There is no evidence of any original virus from February, March around currently," Professor Sutton said last Tuesday.

Which means it most likely came from overseas.

Mandatory hotel quarantine is widely accepted to be one of the biggest factors that helped Australia flatten the curve the first time, but now it seems likely that a single failure in that program sparked a wave of cases far bigger than the first.
