Yet some borders remain open ... how does that work ?

Not to soon .... this virus variant has a gestation period less than 24 hours - they are already searching 5th generation infections

there are reports of shopping centers being flooded with panic buying
if its true, and i believe it is, social distancing is out the window and any chance of controlling the spread is gone.
i was shopping just before the anouncement and noticed it was busier than usual (i shop every wednesday just before lunch)
i noticed the toot papper had all gone. AGAIN!
also i heard on radio you cant take your dog out for a walk
what about all the people like me who have a dog and no yard to let them out into to go potty?
i hope they are going to be sensible about it
i dont want to go on long walks, just as far as he needs to find a spot to plop (yes i carry baggys)

It may be only as far as the verge for a little while.

I think you should be able to take Leroy out for a toilet break anytime he needs one David.
It's stupid for people to suggest not.
I heard from a South Australian - she says they have their priorities right.......
The queues for the bottle shops are around the block.
IT'S JUST 6 DAYS PEOPLE!

i'm ok with everything, makes very little difference to me.
if i didnt need to walk leroy for toileting i could easily not go outside for a week
my pantry is well stocked as is my fridge.
fresh milk would be my only need, but i have a few long life milks in the pantry so i could get by
but they said you can go out to buy food, just wear a mask, which i have

@david,
Under SA's current hard-and-fast restrictions, you cannot go out for the purpose of taking your dog for a walk.
However, as far as I'm aware, you could take your dog with you to shop for essentials. (I don't know how you feel about doggie masks...)
I respect the decision made by SA's CMHO. The short incubation period and quick generational movement are alarming, particularly as the majority of those infected are completely or very nearly asymptomatic. That means it could be circulating wildly in the community with invisibility and impunity, unnoticed unless for some reason someone had to be tested, or it was contracted by someone whose symptoms became noticeable. It would hit the vulnerable with all of the unexpectedness of a WWII bomb disguised as a daisy, inadvertently trodden on in your back garden.
The short incubation period and swift infectivity period are why I agree with the 6-day tough lockdown. It will get much of the current burst to a terminal point. There will have to be continued restrictions after that, but not as viccovidian.

Hoons.. Is that the same thing as a Bogan , or a Redneck( in my country)? I've seen the word Bogan from friends here who post on Ebay. com? Sorry, I get curious about strange things, words in particular .
