This is of concern. Overnight the U.S recorded another 40,000 cases as did Brazil. On the plus side, Biden leads Trump by 8-10 points in the polls.

Their other problem is that their annual supply of replacement workers is on hold , which will add to economic woes

Without the contagion the Prez would have romped-in their next election - success promotes popularity but conversely....

The economy was starting to slow down before the pandemic.  Trump has not gained new supporters over the years, but managed to ennoy lots of people, even many conservatives will vote for Biden.  Yes there was a danger that he could have won if he stood against Bernie, but why do you think he was trying to get Biden out of the race?

The Electoral College.

Ennoy - not sure.

Bernie - never happened. lol

Biden wants  'smart'  testing for starters,  and seems to have plenty of ideas.  Whether he would put them into action if he gets in is anybodty/s guess, but they sound good.

And we shouldn’t just test more, we should test smarter. Right now, because of shortages of tests and personnel protective equipment and related challenges, we are still only largely testing the sickest people we suspect have COVID-19, so they can be isolated and cared for. Smart testing would focus on individuals who are at heightened risk, like nursing home residents, as well as those who interact with many people each day, including health care workers, grocery store workers, public safety officials, public transportation employees, and others.

Not for the content of the report, well, maybe a bit, but the photos of the healthcare workers.

Two different ones pictured and neither of them wearing their mask in the proper manner.

You're not supposed to twist the elastic to start with.  It creates a bulge on your cheeks making the mask useless.

If they come knocking on my door wearing a mask like that they can expect some yelling.

They're testing how many people and exposing others to it by wearing masks in this manner?

Rant over.

Coronavirus update

If Victoria used the same basis of defining active Covid -19 cases as NSW, Victoria would have only six cases.

For those interested, here is a link to the full article , but this is the part I found very revealing:

But are Victoria’s cases really worse than NSW’s, the other big state that has not closed its borders? At the time of writing, the official numbers are as follows: new cases in Victoria overnight are 33, in NSW there were four.

However, during the week, NSW revised the way it reported active cases to provide a better understanding of recent community transmission of COVID-19. Previously, it included all people who had not recovered after three weeks and people for whom information on recovery was unavailable. Active cases are now defined as locally acquired cases with onset in the previous four weeks. They are not necessarily symptomatic, infectious or still in isolation.

Overseas acquired cases in quarantine hotels are not counted as active cases, as they have not had contact with the NSW community.

If Victoria used the same basis of defining active cases as NSW, it would have only six cases.

This looks entirely as though the NSW Liberal State Government, working with their Federal Liberal counterparts, has shifted the goalposts to make the Victorian Labor State Government look as though it’s lost control — again, this is the commentary being spun by the Murdoch media. Nothing is further from the truth. The commentary from NSW Liberal Premier Gladys Berejiklian that Victorians are not welcome  in NSW is evidence of the politics being played with COVID-19 numbers. The Eden-Monaro by election is also driving that commentary.

Ok. But all the yelling still won't abate your need of carers

It won't be 'my carers' I'll be yelling at, Icy.

It'll be the numbnuts who turn up at my door with ill fitting masks, after they've tested how many people in this hot spot.?

IMO, they're undoing my isolation, aren't they?

I'm not opening the door.
