Coronavirus update

I wish someone in authority would explain why cinemas are still open

An infectious person also watched Jumanji 2 at the centre's Hoyts cinema, sparking another COVID scare.

Or clothing stores, or jewellers......the list goes on.

None of these are any of the 4 reasons for leaving home.

  • to shop for food and essential goods or services
  • to provide care, for compassionate reasons or to seek medical treatment
  • to exercise or for outdoor recreation
  • for work or study, if you can’t do it from home

723 new cases and all these shops/cinemas should all be shut down IMO

What on earth is going on.

Why - just why - would anyone want to go to the cinema - with so many & so much at stake.

Defies imagination.

Stay safe Vic.

Coronavirus update

All the op shops that I know, have been closed for months.

I suppose 'they' think if all businesses close down, they'll have a bigger problem with unemployment etc

But the non-essential ones should definitely be shut.    They closed down beauticians/manicurists but let hairdressers still operate?

Madness.  And it looks to me like the Gov't should take a leaf out of their own book, and take things more seriously.

I thought Dan the Man was doing great, and he is IMO,  but not in this area.

All the  op shops, beauticians etc etc in Hamiton has been open, since the 1st lock down was lifted, so might have just been a Melb "thing" to keep them closed

They seem to have all covered - hope all goes well.

I'd drop the gear on arrival home - shower etc - just to be sure.

In the beginning Morrison and most of the Premiers moved from being Covid safe to Economy focused very quickly. That made a lot of people happy, businesses reopened and the economy started to recover. Now with this crisis in Victoria they are faced with some difficult choices that they do not want to be politically incorrect or impact on their reputations. Also, the shock horror of this pandemic has already been experienced and I don't think Covid 19 is viewed the same. I suspect the attitude now is that we have to learn to live with it, and the Governments are therefore prepared to take greater risks. The value of a human life has decreased over the last couple of months!

They can stick their reputations - there's more at stake here.
