There are many cases they do not know where they came from. It is very likely it was in the community transferred from one asymptomatic person to another. Just because they did not trace any cases to those protests does not mean people did not get infected there.
People would've been infected there but any protestor wouldn't want to admit that they got it there as then
the protest wouldv'e then be seen as a senseless/reckless and selfish act by the very same age group that
is driven this pandemic and that don't seem to give a damn about anyone else.
Last time I heard, they had 750 of people tested positive who they could not trace back to known source.
Most of those are cases from the last few weeks where they most likely have been infected by someone that is/was asymptomaic that may have been missed via contact tracing and hasn't come forward due to lack of symptoms.
That basically means they picked it up on public transport or shopping for groceries, most likely from asymptomatic person who was never tested, and have no idea they had it.
Or because some wont let authorities know where they have been or they have lied as to where they have been because they are selfish.
