There are countless political threads on the boards as we all know.
And no matter the intention of the OP, most really just end up being a cat fight between each responders preferred party or representative.
Here is a twist - Could you, as the leader of a political party, do a better job (and not just an off the cuff answer along the lines of a two year old could do a better job haha) but an answer backed up with the method to attain what you think the country needs.
I reckon at the end, all of us will realise it is not an easy job....and you can't please all the people all the time.

I think Julia Gillard is excellent with policy, she does seem to take the wrong advice sometimes, I think that is her downfall that she is perhaps not as good at playing politics as I thought she was - I think she is better when in the position of the underdog.
I'm useless at making decisions so there is no way I could do a better job.

If I read the OP better I would have seen that you are asking could I do a better job as the leader of a political party not as a PM .
are all parties included ?

I couldn't do a better job than Tony Abbott of being a complete worm.
I could however stick to my principles and beliefs better than him. I would respect and admire him if he could be openly against abortion - we know he is but won't stand up and say it any longer (that is just one small example).
There is weakness on both sides in the integrity department.

No I couldn't because:
1) I no longer have the energy needed for that kind of job.:-(
2) I'm a very good 'ideas' person, but hopeless at translating those ideas into action.:8}
3) I'm useless at managing finances (I'm going to be in deep doodoos if Mr Elephant predeceases me):_|
4) I have no stomach for the lying, spin doctoring and prevarication that is an inevitable part of politics.X-(

Well Mr Grizz, at last I am in accord with you on something. 😉
I have for a long time refused to "go out" with men who wear ties.
The most ridiculous piece of apparel ever invented. And you will have to read a Desmond Morris book to find out why men wear them.
