I see no maliciousness in chameleon54's post. I do detect some anger and disgust though. These feelings are shared by many Australians right around the country.
Disgust and anger sum up my attitude to Dan Andrews pretty well and that extends to idiots who ignore or try to excuse his incompetence at handling the virus. I have immediate family members who live and run businesses in Victoria and others who live on the border and where directly affected by border closures. One of my own businesses also has strong links to Victoria, with over 50% of my production being sold to the state.
Andrews handling of COVID has been felt by my family as much as any in Victoria.
So how exactly did Andrews do things differently to other states ?
The complete lack of contact tracing during the major outbreak with close contacts reporting they had not been contacted many days or even weeks after family and friends had contracted the virus was a huge blunder and who could forget 1/4 of active COVID cases not being home when the few and scattered checks where done by ADF and police personnel.
They didn't need to be home . Andrews was allowing them out of their home for hours to mix with the community for " fresh air and exercise ". Is it any wonder the virus got completely out of control and over 800 people died under his watch ?

At the same time this was going on in Victoria, one of my young nieces was isolating in SA after returning ( escaping ) from Victoria. Over the 14 days quarantine ( not allowed to leave home or mix with other residents under any circumstance ) she received random visits from police on most days , had to have several COVID tests and was not even positive. Simply a returned traveller.
The difference in management was startling and the results are there for all to see. The families of those who died under Dan Andrews watch deserve to at least have the opportunity to cast a vote on is management of the pandemic at the next election, and for some to suggest this is a shameful expectation is frankly ludicrous in the extreme.
Let the pile ons begin, I wont be here to see them, better things to do with my time !!!

most Victorians realize that although the lockdown was hard on us, if we hadn't done it. the virus would've gone all around Australia
new cases of the virus arrived here from Sydney just before Christmas but the outbreak was quickly contained.
aged care was never prepared for an outbreak as it should've been... the Fed Govt. didn't even mandate the use of PPE in aged care until June/July last year , long after the horse had already bolted.... even now they have not managed vaccinations in aged care centres very well.. It's shocking how the elderly are treated in those privately run places
oh btw chameleon. and 4chan.. the Andrews Govt. would win another election hands down in Vic as all the polls indicate

of course the other alternative is that we could've just carried on business as usual, and ignored the pandemic outbreak,, let it rip and Australia would be just like Europe and the US are right now.. with thousands dying every day... I know what i preferred There was a lot to be learned from the outbreak that we had from hotel quarantine and it was learned by our state Govt and other state Govts. who've all now had hotel quarrantine outbreaks... hotels were never built for such a thing in the first place
sorry to hear your family had some inconveniences.... so did mine

Good on you mate for having the guts to say what you have. Your voice here is one that is echoed around Australia by people who actually understand and care! If the 800 people had better access to early stage treatment then things could have been very different as far as tragedy is concerned.

Regardless of so-called statistics I believe people will remember the damage done not only to people personally and mentally but the economy. This is by a man now regarded as not only a dictator but an architect of a modern police state. In years to come the reality of what took place will be better realised. Many people see what has taken place is due to one man's inflated ego and monomaniacal perception of himself. Naturally others suspect something more sinister.
From someone who loathes the Liberal and One Nation like you wouldn't believe, I can say that Right on Rita Panahi is right about him.

The people that think highly of him will wake up in due course. Pain will force them to.
BTW: The difference between what Labour was and once stood for and what it has become in Victoria under Andrews is like that of night and day.

You tell me 4chan, I honestly can't keep up with you.
So now we SHOULD take the drugs, and should have taken them 12 months ago ?
I am lost, and I am willing to hear your explanation as I said, I honestly don't get how you can do a 180 like that.
Please if it is going to be a scroller can you pop it in the Spolier

No turn around as you suggest. I'll leave you to figure out what "early stage treatment" means, what it consists of and when it should have been implemented.
For better clarification, a guy named Pete may be able to help.
