Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

โ€œAs Scott Morrison prepared to step in as Social Services Minister, his new department was contacting housing advocacy groups and other community services providers on Monday to inform them their funding had been cut and contracts with the Commonwealth would be discontinued.โ€

Some also appear stuck on asylum seekers (boats) and a now defunct logging company (Gunn's) creating 1000's of  jobs in Tasmania... oh and a focus on tanks, fighter planes and warships sometimes.

Meanwhile silence on the big issues like $30B of failed budget proposals, Morrison being let loose in charge of Human Services etc etc...

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

I wouldn't call it shady. Sports people sign heaps of things they don't know where they will end up.

I call it good negotiating, He knew there hot buttons, what they wanted.
Standard practice, find out what each person "wants".

....and my opinion of this Morrison creature?

All authoritarian bluster but question if he has any true legal grounding for his commands.

Those  bats weren't signed  for political reasons. They should not have been used for political reasons.

Did you even read what the cricket player said?

Does Bill Shorten really deserve to become PM?

It will take no time at all in these exchanges for someone to note that Shorten has been propelled to a winning position more by Abbott's betrayals than by any genius the Labor leader has demonstrated.

haha

yes abbotts multiple lies,

you said it!

i seriously doubt that shorten will be leading the Labor party into the next election, he's probably just in caretaker mode, doesn't have to do anything but watch tony trip himself up continuosly   Woman LOL
