As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Vaccination: Saving $50m in welfare payments main driver
On closer reading it seems the main driver is to save up to $50 million a year in welfare payments.
Surely, the aim would be to save nothing except lives and suffering?

"I disagree entirely with your post."
I do appreciate your position, the Scientific Method is not understood by many, even your C&P "expert"
Extrapolating the above to graphical representations I suddenly realised what your comments apropos my CO2 concentration/time graph would be based upon: the commencement date!
So in the interests of "scientific" detente and using the unforbidden history period.................................:-
Commencement Sept 2013

M1C: "The 2c rise in temperature by the end of the century,I believe,is a crock. It will be higher, but let's not worry about it.It'll be the next generations problem.Break open the champagne and bring on the dancin' girls"
I agree M1C, 2°C is in my opinion 'hot air'.
However, I am partial to a bottle or two of "red", also a good Caribbean rum. The dancin girls I will not comment upon lest I incur the ire of G58.
I might even join my son in a dry martini, if the seal level does not interfere!

Perhaps you could have posted that photo in the My Day thread.. more appropriate than in a thread about the Abbott Govt.

"more appropriate than in a thread about the Abbott Govt." Oh gosh really? All this time I thought it was about : "Re: Diary of our stinking Govt."
I know it is "not on" calling the Circus and its Caucus clowns as "stinking", but what is good for one, is good for the other.
But you could decide to blame the government and all post Sept 2013 (of course you would) but it would be somewhat torturous, allow me.
Blame the Coalition for its climate policies, done. Check with D9275 whether 2°C or 4°C is a realistic target, waiting. Accept that the atmosphere will continue to warm, waiting. Understand that a rise of global temperature will be "catastrophic" (????) Finally, appreciate that M1C and myself wish to drown our sorrows before we are by rising sea levels (?????) Finally understand that I would join my son and enjoy some soon to be diluted drinks, thanks to the "stinking Govt", this current one not the previous Circus.
There you have it, the Coalition/Abbott has driven me to drink with my son!

NSW would be the biggest immediate winner and Victoria among the serious losers if a West Australian proposal to freeze GST allocations at their present percentage levels is agreed amid an intensifying argument over the tax.
The idea is among the options favoured by the WA government and by many federal West Australian MPs but would result in a major backlash from other states and could even provoke tax mayhem with state governments re-introducing a patchwork of costly business and transaction taxes to make up for funding shortfalls.
The NSW Treasury would be better off next financial year to the tune of $535 million from the freeze while Victoria would go backwards by $171 million and South Australia by $263 million. In any event, NSW opposes the temporary freeze, arguing that allocations should adhere to a predictable formula and not be tinkered with by politicians in Canberra.
"The process needs to be respected - you simply can't make exceptions which ultimately jeopardises the integrity of the process," said NSW Treasurer Gladys Berejiklian
