As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

@am*3 wrote:I see, watching it via TV, apps and updates the issue. Must be frustrating for those people. I only watch it on my laptop.
yeah, it's fine on the laptop. I was looking at changing from quickflix to netflix on the TV so the kids can watch movies as netflix is unmetered and quickflix is metered.
According to both netflix and Quickflix it's a Sony content ownership issue. I didn't even think about it until I was trying to find out why no app was available in Australia. Apparently all the premium content I have been viewing previously has been via Sony network not quickflix direct. All 3 companies have told me they are working on changing the current situation and hope to expand the services this year.

Still awaiting the quote A3 . Meanwhile back to obuscation :
"But the discussion was about Twitter not the word twitter"
You mean the "discussion" that commenced last Thursday with?:
@monman12 wrote:Now for the Real World and not twittering.
G58: "You clearly have no idea what twitter is about."
Oh gosh, some clearly have no idea apropos verb/noun identification.
I do like one of the originators of Twitter (noun) Jack Dorsey's explanation :
...we came across the word 'twitter', (verb) and it was just perfect. The definition was 'a short burst of inconsequential information,' and 'chirps from birds'. And that's exactly what the product was . "Say no more" read this thread.
Repeat
A3: Actually Twitter is:
Twitter is an online social networking service that enables users to send and read short 140-character messages called "tweets".
Twitter was created in March 2006
Actually if you research (sorry), you would discover that "twitter" (verb) has been around and part of the language long before 2006:
1325-75; Middle English twiteren (v.); akin to German zwitschern.
I do think that this definition is somewhat apt:
Late 14c., twiteren, in reference to birds, of imitative origin. Eureka, that is why there are so many C&Ps sans comments.
verb

And we all know that's not where it started in this thread at all though, don't we.
You forgot the comments re Twitter before the comment you posted.
Just curious, did you ever investigate the twitter account that Tbag attributed to you?

News Corpโs $882m blew the budget
The single largest factor in the underlying deterioration of the federal budget announced by Treasurer Joe Hockey in December was a cash payout of almost $900 million to Rupert Murdoch โs News Corporation .
On July 25 the Federal Court of Appeal ruled against the Tax Office to allow News Corp to claim a $2 billion deduction from a series of paper shuffles between subsidiaries.
The Tax Office was deciding whether to appeal against the judgment as News Corp newspapers launched a ferocious attack on the government, kicking off with the Daily Telegraphโs headline on August 5, 11 days after the court judgment: โKick this mob out." In the following days, Labor leader Kevin Rudd would claim that News Corp was running a virulent anti-government campaign in exchange for concessions from the Coalition
The galling feature for the Tax Office is that the original deals that cost taxpayers $882 million cost News nothing
