As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Oh gosh the PM is paid more than the Opposition Leader, no, really? and racks up more expenses, outrageous.
Office Additional salary (%) Salary as of July 1 2013

what?? this?? the Toowoomba Chronicle?? "
forgot to metion the headline of the article
How Julia and Julie racked up $1m in expenses in six months
i don't know why you won't post an entire article in the first place so everyone can see what you're talking about
the article did also mention the expenditure of Tony abbott and Julie Bishop who were at the time in opposition -abbotts expenses are about $100K less than Gillards which makes her expenditure look pretty good
I must admit I've never heard of The Toowoomba Chronicle before, so no wonder I couldn't find it

"i already posted those in post 14002"
That is actually why I posted: "One could even have another ponder of Poor Me's:
Expenditure on Entitlements paid by the
Department of Finance and Deregulation
1 July to 31 December 2012
I have also mentioned, OFTEN, that both "gangs" behave in similar fashion, well the ALP parliamentarians easily manage to surpass the Coalition where criminal malfeasance and jail time is concerned.

"I must admit I've never heard of The Toowoomba Chronicle before, so no wonder I couldn't find it"
That explains it!
When there is a comment and you are again "stuck", just take a portion of the comment and use it as the search criteria within Google e.g. using this:- In the last six months of 2012, Julia Gillard had allowances totalling A$647,000.
Would take you HERE, and you could then further search and possibly discover The Chronicle - Owned by The Canberra Times. I also noticed that The Conversation " is mentioned: this network's monthly online audience is two million users onsite, and a reach of 10 million through creative commons republication.
