As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

"mm12 and did you look at all the reasons for resignations and sackings?"
Which set of figures do I "look" at, your original C&P graphical (fudged) ones, or my researched accurate totals?

"Is that a chart? What has happened to graphs of no particular relevance ".
Actually T2844 It is a graph, a simple one, but a good starting place for those unfamiliar with graphical representation., and The Sandpit
A graph is a diagram (picture) showing the relation between variable quantities, normally two, one measured along (here) a vertical (Y axis), and a horizontal axis (X axis) at right angles.to the Y axis.
Many lessons to come before this graph below is understood, but it is relevant, within the thread because it indicates a real "stink" index, :the XAO (and CBA) covering the current "Govt's" supposed malodorous tenure to-date.
I will shortly display a 10 year version of the above, which while being rather "advanced" , is indicative of a decadal odour index !

The Commonwealth Bank's role as adviser to Australia's biggest coal project, Adani Mining's proposed Carmichael Mine in Queensland, has ended, dealing a heavy blow to its prospects and a significant victory for environmental groups.

Abbott has weighed in ... labelling the Federal Court decision as "green sabotage"
“As a country we must, in principle, favour projects like this,” the Prime Minister told The Australian.
And this pearler: "it’s absolutely critical for the human welfare literally of tens of millions of people in India.”
Since when has he showed any concern for people outside Australia ? Is he trying to pull the "I care for humanity" card here ? Bit rich given his Government's actions re boat turn-arounds etc.
Duplicitous fool.

That's nice, but what do YOU think outside of the C&P?
With the fall in coal price I think it a very wise move by CBA to "hold off", but an economic decision is hardly a victory for the environmental "Luddites" who's current silly argument is that the mine will contribute to climate change (they probably mean where the coal is used) forgetting that there is a coal over supply at the moment, so customers will source elsewhere !
Do we stop selling iron ore because it will be also used for swords and not just ploughshares?
"LABOR is not opposed to Adani's Carmichael Mine development or the expansion of the Abbot Point coal port, Queensland shadow treasurer Curtis Pitt said yesterday."
"The project, which was proposed and advanced under the previous state and federal ALP Governments, is estimated to have a resource value of USD 5 billion per annum over 60 years."
And of course:

I agree, as I do suspect Abbott is a committed Aussiephile. Just look at his lack of humanity in opposing boats because the "passengers" could not swim, and then to compound this inhumanity "70% of Australian adults agree that the government should turn back boats when safe to do so."
Duplicitous, that means "two-faced". so as Shorten now backs boat turn-backs, together with Abbott, are they the two faces you refer to PW?
